METHOD STATEMENT
The floor screed concrete shall be laid over well compacted surface & screed shall be kept
damp for at least five days before application of waterproofing.
Construct the block wall around the perimeter, height of 1000 mm over the base floor
concrete thickness (it will act as a form work for base floor concrete)
The block wall & laid screed shall be cleaned and free from damp, laitance, dust and dirt
prior to application of primer.
Polyprime SB primer is now brush applied on the surface (floor and vertical block wall)
to act and the key coat for the torch membrane.
Each sheet is lapped to the next sheet both at side laps and end laps. Minimum of laps to
be 100mm.
The torch membrane is laying on the horizontal is continued up to the groove on surface
and terminate and sealing as per drawing no:2022/BML/SBW/SD/WP/01
The torch membrane laying on the horizontal is continued along the vertical wall and
terminated on horizontal face of the vertical block wall then lay polythene strip over
waterproofing membrane and will protect with cement sand screed for temporary.
The waterproofing membrane terminating point at horizontal (basement floor) will tuck in
the groove and will fasten using with aluminum strip and seal with Bitumastic sealant.
A protection cement sand screed to be laid over the horizontal waterproofing and for
vertical walls protected with cement sand plaster.
Water proofing application shall be applied as per waterproofing lay out, Section drawings
(Dwg.no.20022-W01 &20022-W1.1) & drawing no.2022/BML/SBW/SD/WP/01
Polyprime SB primer is now brush applied on the surface (floor and vertical RCC wall) to
act and the key coat for the torch membrane.
Torch membrane in now continue to lay starting with where the temporary termination
and along the floor and vertical RCC wall over the prime surface.
The vertical walls waterproofing membrane will be terminating at 300mm above from the
ground level, will fasten using with aluminum strip and seal with Bitumastic sealant
A protection cement sand screed to be laid over the horizontal waterproofing and for
vertical walls will place 10 mm thick high-density Styrofoam board or protected with
cement sand plaster.
At interruption of work the edges of the sheets shall be finished in such a manner that rain
water or dust shall not penetrate underneath.
➢ Application of loose laying to damp/ wet area floors where the surface cannot
be dry.
After floor preparation as above cement sand fillet minimum of 25mm X 25 mm to be laid
at the intersection point of any vertical and horizontal section such as the wall – slab edge,
etc.
Area where the surface is wet / damp, Torch membrane on loose laying to the surface and
torch wilding the laps (floor and vertical block wall up to 300mm maximum height)
Each sheet is lapped to the next sheet – both at side laps and end laps. Minimum laps to be
100mm.
2nd layer will lay over the 1st layer with torch welding, (avoiding the over lapping)
Each sheet is lapped to the next sheet – both at side laps and end laps. Minimum laps to be
100mm.
A protection cement sand screed to be laid over the horizontal waterproofing and
approved protection to be protection done for the vertical surface.

POLYPRIME SB
So lve nt b a se d b i t um en p ri me r
POLYPRIME SB is a quick drying solvent based low viscosity bitumen primer. It is used as a primer coat on
masonry and concrete substrates to improve the adhesion of bitumen based membranes and coatings.
TDS_Polyprime-SB_GCC_1011
POLYPRIME SB is low in viscosity, which allows it to penetrate into the concrete pores and improve the
adhesion between the membrane and the concrete surface. In addition to that, the primer also acts as a
binder for the dust particles which gets accumulated on the concrete surface even after cleaning.
Application
