REFLECTION 1

QUESTION 1: What was the best part of unit 1? Write three things that were interesting to you.
(30-50 words)
The best part of unit 1 was the questions and answers from 1B. I believe that the questions helped us
develop critical thinking skills. Three things interesting to me include robots thinking in a way similar to
humans, populating space in the future, and online surveillance and internet privacy.
QUESTION 2: What was the most interesting part of unit 2? Write three things that you have
learned in unit 2. (30-50 words)
The psychology of colors was the most interesting idea. I learned that: different colors can evoke different
feelings, companies purposefully design logos to convey certain meanings, and that manipulating photos
in the media is controversial since it can cause the audience to be misled and the truth to be distorted.
QUESTION 3: Evaluate your performance in unit 1 and 2. How active were you in class? How can
you be more active in the coming classes? (30-50 words)
I think that I was fairly active since I tried my best to participate as much as possible. However, I also
believe that there is always room for improvement. I can try to engage more in discussions with friends
and I can take more initiative in class in the future.

reading, what does the color ‘red’ signify (mean)? Give 2-3 examples and explain. (30-50 words)
The color red means dominance, health, and aggression. It means aggression because human go red when
they turn angry, health because of previous studies on bird species that indicate females are attracted to
the healthiness demonstrated by the color red, as well as dominance such as in Mandrills.

What rare condition does Mark have? Do you know anyone with a rare condition like that and how
does it affect their life? (30-50 words)
Mark has a rare condition called synesthesia. I don’t personally know anyone with this particular
condition. However, my sister has Misophonia. It is a condition where she is triggered by certain sounds
such as chewing to the point that she gets so disturbed and needs to leave the room.
