PROGRAM OUTCOMES:
Complex engineering problems: It involves real thing and situation, not straight forward to solve it,
need some skills of searching information and skills how to get the information and skill for getting the
solution.
According to the Washington Accord (IEA 2015*), complex engineering problems are problems that:
a. Cannot be resolved without in-depth engineering knowledge.
b. Involve wide-ranging or conflicting technical, engineering and other issues.
c. Have no obvious solution and require abstract thinking and originality in analysis to formulate suitable
models.
d. Involve infrequently encountered issues.
e. Outside problems encompassed by standards and codes of practice for professional engineering.
f. Involve diverse groups of stakeholders with widely varying needs.
g. High level problems including many component parts or sub-problems.
Students must equip themselves with abilities to think critically, creatively and solve problems at all level
of education especially at the tertiary level skills in knowledge acquisition, synthesis, reasoning, problem
analysis, operation and evaluation.
Based on these GAs, Program Outcomes (POs) have been framed by NBA. These POs are generic to
engineering education and applies to all branches of Engineering and for Management. Also, based on the
GAs of a program, POs can be framed.
Program Specific Objectives (PSOs): These are the objectives defined for the program specific.

Course Outcome Attainment level is set based on previous three years’ average performance levels in the university examination in that course. Process is
given below:
1. Find out the average marks scored in each course in the last three years.
2. Find the number of students scoring above the average marks
3. This is set as middle level of goal setting [Level-2]
4. Depending on the trend of the result the lower level [Level-1] can be set by reducing 5% of the students score than the middle level.
5. The upper level [Level-3] can be set by increasing 5% of the students score than the middle level.
