TEACHING LEARNING PROCESS
Induction/Introduction (Generating interest, informing students about the outcomes and expectations for the lesson)
I will ask the students to mention the names of some animals and write them on board. Then I will instruct them to write down the organisms in the order of their size. Let the biggest be
the first. Then I will ask them the following questions that lead them in to the topic.
• Is ant the smallest creature on land?
• Which is the smallest creature you have seen?
• Are there organisms smaller than this?
• Won't there be even smaller organisms in water and air too?
• How can we see minute organisms? Shall we use a hand lens to see these minute organisms?
• How big does it appear if we observe a ant with the help of hand lens?
• How can we observe organisms that cannot be seen by the naked eye?
Experience and Reflection (Task/question that helps students explore the concept and connect with their life)
• Why mother adds a little curd to warm milk to set curd for the next day?
• Why are children/infants given vaccination?
• Visit a doctor. Find out why antibiotics should not be overused. Prepare a short report.
• Visit a PHC and find out about commonly using antibiotics and vaccines from health personnel.
Explicit Teaching/Teacher Modelling (I Do) Group Work (We Do) Independent Work (You Do)
• Introduction and vocabulary words friend, foe, • Activity 2.1 – observation of microbes in soil. • Prepares the modals of different microorganisms with the available

• Discussion on microorganisms – types and their • Activity 2.4 – Sugar water and yeast activity

- Increasing soil fertility
- Cleaning of the environment.
• Discussion on Harmful microorganisms –
- Disease causing microorganisms in Humans • Draw the flow chart showing the process of preparing curd.
- Disease causing microorganisms in Animals
• Collect the labels from the bottles of jams and jellies. Write down
