Train draft #1 Idea

Train horns blow piercing through the deep fog and mist,
echoing in the background of the accompanying heavy rain
sounds…
A chilly wind runs down my hair and goosebumps follow right
after…. As far as the vision goes… railway tracks… nothing but
tracks covered with deep and dense fog. An uncanny and damp
atmosphere engulfs the whole plane and the heavy rain
accompanied by the impenetrable fog makes it much so by
several tenfolds… every now and then a train leaves the station
while giving a full-on blow of the horn…
Yes… this place is a train station and I don't know how I ended
up here or what am I doing here…
"Well hello, there gentleman!" (Said a cheerful yet aged voice)
"How long do you plan to sit under this heavy rain on this
bench while talking to no one but yourself?"
I looked to my right to find an old-aged elegant looking
gentleman with a white beard running down his chin and
wrinkles covering up his face. He was dressed in the typical
vintage British stationmaster uniform but with a unique twist to
it… there were some different attachments here and there but
the most intriguing of those were his flashy hat and stick which
looked exactly like that of any old-school magician you know,

along with that were his monocles, I don’t know if they were
for style or not-
"Uh-uh, monsieur… (He said while waving his index finger) how
long do you plan to awe in my beauty?"
"Sorry?" I asked, caught off guard and confused…
"Aah... I see, you still must be in the shocked and confused
state (He said while rubbing his chin, playing with his beard)
and here I thought that you must be already over that phase
because of how calmly you had been sitting here for such a long
time."
"Huh? What do you mean? I don't understand."
"Hmmm… it's always the same reaction but I just can't get used
to it. You, my friend… are already dead."
"Huh? What are you saying I am right here talking to-"
"OK THEN!- don’t call me ever again if that’s what you want
right, yes I have never been enough for you NEVER-
you didn’t even let the kids be with me- never, you never DID-
This marriage has gone to waste- these 19 years have gone to
utter waste and nothing else… AAAaaaaa SHI%^#$^….(Car
crashes)…"

"Aah, I see…"
"Hmm? Well- that was pretty… what to say… underwhelming?
Aren't you going to question me? Ask me for proofs?
How could you just accept all of this so easily?"
"It doesn't matter, I trust you and even if this is death, I don't
regret dying because I didn't have anything left to protect or
cherish in my life anyways…"
"Oh… well anyways now that you are here let me give you a
look around here and guide you through this place, after all,
that's my job as this place's stationmaster." He said cheerfully…
"Now first of all let me tell you about this place, the place
known as the 'Station of the Afterlife'."
"Station of the Afterlife?" I asked curiously.
"Yup, you heard me right... 'The station of the afterlife'(he said
triumphantly) doesn't it sound so grand and majestic(he
chuckles), we have been created by the almighty God and
assigned here by himself to guide the lost souls like you to the
afterlife."
"You see, this place is something between your world, earth,
and the kingdom of God, heaven. Here we try to guide the souls
of those who are worthy of entering heaven by setting them

free of the bindings that still keep them attached to the mid-
world, in your terms 'earth'."
"You see all these trains, they all carry several different
passengers, all of different places and timelines… headed on
their eternal journey to find true salvation and peace."
"Are only the people of Earth present here?" I asked. Which
may seem weird but not to me… because I had always believed
in the theory of multiverse and alien life and if there really was
God then he must not be the God exclusive to earth, should he?
"Well- that's a weird question… Ha-ha! Aren't you a curious
one? You see señor I know where you are coming from and
I know what you mean… but that's a question that I cannot
answer… at least not now."
"Hmmmmh... Ok but please, my name is Alan East, so stop
calling me by all these pronouns."
"Ha-ha! Sorry Alan I do know your name but I was trying to
maintain my character (He said gleefully)." While all of this, we
stopped around at the edge of one of the tracks at the
platform, and a train numbering… I couldn't read it… I couldn't
read the number or the name of the ride, stopped in front of
us. He turned to my face looked me in the eyes and said while
holding his hat with his fingers, tilting it forward in the way of a
salutation or introduction, "And YOU can call me Sebastian".

The train gave a horn announcing its time to leave the station,
alarming the passengers to get ready.
"So now that, if you are ready let's board this train and start
the journey to your AfterLIFE." He said while taking a silver
pocket watch out of his pocket and checking the time or
somewhat, a watch so beautiful that it almost bewitched me…
It was covered with beautiful carvings and designs, designs such
as that of mystical vines and many other enchanting things that
are just impossible to describe with words… I don't know why
but a weird feeling aroused in me that these designs should
look better on a huge silver bell or so… I don't know why such a
wild thought came to my mind but it jus-
"Hello? Hello Adam?"
"Uh-huh yes!"
"huh? Ada-"

"Boy! You sure do overthink a lot… are you a kid all entangled
in your dream world and here I just threw such powerful one-
liners and all… "
"Aah sorry, please forgive me…"
"I AM angry but anyways we must hurry or we shall lose this
ride of ours… now come on let's hop inside and start this
journey of yours…"
