General Instructions
1. All assignments are due by the date indicated above.
2. No late submissions will be accepted. Note: From time to time you may experience computer or
network issues or personal challenges that may impede you submitting on time. Plan ahead so that
you have plenty of time to submit.
3. All submissions must be made in Microsoft Word format unless otherwise stated. ZIP,
RAR, PDF or any other file types other than Word will not be marked.
4. The submission must be grammatically correct and free from spelling errors.
5. Any paper deemed to be contrary to Georgian College’s policies on Academic Integrity (at-
tached) will immediately receive a zero and further disciplinary action may result.

Instructions
Present a personal portfolio which includes the following:

Your long-form professional bio. (Take the time to really flesh this out. Think about
your past accomplishments and be sure to include them and explain how they helped to
define who you are and what you have to offer. Relate back to the work we have done
in class and on past assignments in this course. Research long-form bios online and
see what comprises a proper long-form bio).

Your logo. You can have one professionally designed for you or you can simply use an
online logo creator (there are plenty of free resources available). Consider adding your
logo to your resume, business card, social media and website (keep in mind that social
media and website are a part of Submission #3).

Your branded resume. (Take the time to craft this accordingly. Draw on all of the things
we have covered in class. If you wish to use a logo, use the resources discussed in
class. Put some real effort into this. This is YOUR resume. make sure it is professional
and complete).

Your professional photo. Get a professional-looking photo taken. This must be appro-
priate for use in media such as LinkedIn, etc. Use the resources we discussed in class
to get a photo done. You will be thankful for this. A professional photo can be one of the
most important aspects of your personal marketing.

Your business card. (Use the resources we discussed in class. There are many online
resources available to you. If you are not adept in design software, then get creative.
Use the techniques we discussed in class to your advantage).

At least two letters of recommendation. (This is your opportunity to compile some ref-
erences for your use. If you are unsure of where to start, refer to the resources we dis-
cussed in class. Having solid references will make all the difference in the world when it
comes to you, your brand and your career. Take this very seriously. It can be a game-
changer).

A list of awards, accomplishments, volunteer service documents. (Include certifi-


cates, Dean’s List letter etc. (copies only, please!) Getting involved in the community
is a crucial element to your success. It makes you a better person and gets you involved
deeply in your community. If you do not have any past volunteering, then there is no
time like the present to get started!).

Grading:
Your mark will reflect how complete your submission is, how well you have thought out
and communicated your brand, and how well that brand is reflected in these materials.
Your portfolio must demonstrate your professionalism. Polished. Proof-read. Effectively
written. This is your chance to put together a professional package that displays WHO
YOU ARE and WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE in terms of your career and yourself.
Put maximum effort into this and you will get maximum results out of it. This could be the
most important thing you do in developing your personal brand. Take it very seriously.
