Installation Instructions for repair of pinholes and small damages up to 20x20mm

Pinholes and damages less than 20 x 20 mm can easily be repaired. The pipe surface has to be cleaned,
free of foreign particles, oil and grease. If necessary, clean by using soap or solvents.

Damage area is cleaned and free of foreign particles. By using the grinder disk, grade A24 or A36, all
sharp and upstanding edges should be removed and the surface roughened.

 To prepare S1401
epoxy mix ratio :

By volume : 5 to 1

By weight : 100 to 12

Dispence together and

stir during approx. 2
minutes.

IMPORTANT REMARK :

For proper mixing of the S1401 it is recommended to keep the temperature of part A above
20°C. When temperature of mixture is too cold, application on the pipe will be more difficult
and curing time is extended.

An area of minimum 50mm (2 inches) around the pinhole of damage is covered with an equally spread
layer of S1401 epoxy coating. A finished repair can be seen on the right picture. Preheat PP surface
through heat blanket is recommended. Preheat temperature should be between 50 to 60°C.
