Ex: A ball is thrown downward with an initial velocity

Ⓐ What will be its position after 1S and 2S ? V=V₀ + gt

Ⓑ What would be its speed after 1S and 2S ?
y = ½ gt²+v₀.t + y₀
v ₀= 3m/s

Ⓐy=? t =1s
y₀=0 y₁=1/2 x 10 x 1 +3x1 =5+3=8 m
t=2s y₂=1/2 x 10x 4+3x2+0=26m

Ⓑ t=1s v=? v²-v₀=2gy V₁=3+10=13

v²-9=2 x 10 x 8 v²-9=160
v₁²=169  V=13 m/s
at t=2s v=? v = v₀ + gt
v₂ = 3+10x2=23 m/s

Ex: A person throw a ball upward into the air with an inital velocity of
V₀=15m/s. Calculate a) How high it goes ?
b) How long the ball is in the air before it comes back to
to the hand.
(Ignor air resistant)

a) y=? v= v₀+g.t
y₀=0 0 = 15+(-10)t
g= -10 m/s² 10t=15 t=1.5s -5t²+v.t=0
y= y₀+1/2gt²+v₀.t -5t²+15t=0
y= 0+1/2x(+11)x(1.5)²+15x1.5= 11.5m t(-5t+15)=0
Ttotal=2t = 1.5x2= 3S 5t= 15
