DATE OF COMMENCEMENT:
The West Zone Inter University Handball (Men) tournament will be conducted from 10th
to 13th January 2024. A meeting of the Managers of the teams will be held at Abdul Gani Khan
University Sports Stadium on 09th January 2024 at 4:00p.m. Please advise your manager to
submit eligibility before the Manager's meeting.
TRANSPORTATION:-
1- No transport facility will be provided from Railway Station / Bus Stand to the place of stay.
2- Transport facility will be available from the place of stay i.e. University hostel to Venue of
the Tournament (Approximate distance is about 3 km) to and fro on specified time.
3- The amount of Rs. 1000/- for transportation is mandatory to submit at the time of registration.
ACCOMMODATION:-
1- All the teams are requested to reach at the accommodation place directly at Aryabhatt Boys
Hostel, Dr. Harisingh Gour Vishwavidyalaya main campus OR Department of Physical
Education, Abdul Gani Khan University Sports Stadium, Tili Road, Opposite Manorama
Colony, Sagar.
2- Shared room will be provided to the Coach and Managers of each team with common wash
rooms.
3- The players will be provided an unfurnished accommodation facility i.e. dormitory/Hall.
4- Teams are requested to bring with them their own warm clothing and beddings in view of
cold season during tournament. The players if requested, Bed Set (Mattress and
Quilt/Blanket) will be available on pay and use basis at the venue of accommodation by tent
Vendor @ 60/- per bed set, per day.
5- Accommodation will be made available in the hostels 24 hours prior to the first match of the
concerned university. Teams are requested to vacate the rooms allotted to them within
24 hours after their last match. This will be strictly followed.
6- A sum of Rs. 1000/- (Rs. One Thousand) will be charged from each team as Security money
(Refundable) at the accommodation place.
7- Teams are requested to bring their own locks for the safety of their belongings. Organizing
University will not bear any responsibility of any theft.
8- Discipline will be sole responsibility of the team officials on the entire place where team is
present.
FOOD FACILITY:-
There are many good hotels and restaurants located within 2-3 Km. vicinity of the hostels.
The Indian Coffee House is also located inside the University Campus where teams can make their
own arrangements of food and snacks.
DETAILS OF THE TOURNAMENT:-
1- The venue of tournament will be Department of Physical Education, Abdul Gani Khan
University Sports Stadium, Tili Road, Sagar.
2- The tournament will be held in continuous session. The starting time of the match in the
morning session will be 7.30 am and the teams should report 30 minutes before the
scheduled time.
3- The West Zone Handball (Men) tournament will be played on knockout cum league basis
as per the A.I.U. guidelines.
4- The matches will be played as per HANDBALL ASSOCIATION INDIA rules.
5- The Manager of the teams shall submit four copies of eligibility Proforma and the authentic
identity cards of team members duly signed by the competent authority on their arrival. The
identity cards will be checked before the start of every match by competent committee/
person.
6- A sum of Rs 1500/- (Rupees One thousand Five Hundred only) per match will be charged
towards the Officiating Charges in accordance with the AIU guidelines.
7- The Participant Universities must produce the receipt of payment of "Registration Fee" of
Rs. 3000/- for participation in the tournament which is to be submitted online on the AIU
portal.
8- The teams are requested to strictly follow the match schedule and should report at the court
at least half an hour before the commencement of the match.
9- Managers are requested to handover the documents to the competent authority at the venue
before managers meeting. Eligibility Proforma in quadruplicate (Four copies)
10- If necessary, the participating teams may be required to play two matches in one session.
11- Wishing you a Happy Journey and comfortable stay at Dr. Harisingh Gour Central University
and soliciting your cooperation in making the tournament a grand success.
OTHER INFORMATION:-
1- Teams are requested to communicate the date and time of their arrival so that the reception
committee help them to reach the place of their accommodation.
2- Teams are expected to be present in the inauguration program. All teams should carry their
university Flag and team members should be in track suits and shoes.
3- First-Aid and immediate medical assistance will be provided on the grounds. In case of major
injuries etc. medical treatment will be available at the Govt. Medical College Hospital or
Private hospital. The total cost of medicines and treatment etc. shall be borne by the
concerned University team.
4- The organizing Secretary reserves the right to change the time, venue, date and order of the
matches. The decision of the organizers shall be final pertaining to the matters related to the
tournament.
