74 MLM Team-Building Tips

The first answers came slowly and then the dam broke and the flood began! Weve used the Team Mastermind many times to brainstorm marketing ideas and come up with great results. It never occurred to me before that evening to use the Team to brainstorm why the Team works so well but looking back, it sure makes sense. Following is what the Success Team Builders came up with: a list of ways you can provide a safe place for your people to create substantial income from home. We have used all these techniques on our team. Some must be executed first, before others will be appropriate this should be obvious as you read each tip. These 74 points focus on the benefit to prospects of joining your Team & Company, and using your teams System. I encourage you to use these ideas and to model this report to promote your own MLM team.

1. Build your business inside your comfort zone. No selling to friends & family. In fact, no selling at all. Ninety per-cent of the population hates selling or being sold to. If you train people to sell to friends & family, you will never get the duplication you need to build huge. 2. Build your business through relationships. This technology is way more effective and much easier to duplicate than selling. 3. Create family. Team members work together to help each other, upline, downline, and crossline. Its very unusual in network marketing to have this kind of participation. It works when

you recruit people who take joy in helping others. You want people who are a mentor with a servants heart, and you should expect that of EVERYONE on your team. 4. The Anti-Predator! You may have heard of a recruiting system called The Predator. What could possibly be more obnoxious? Do you really think someone who treats their prospects as prey can possibly be successful long-term? Who the heck wants to be prey? Instead, focus on non-threatening, non-sales, ways to do business. 5. Team Mastermind Once or twice a week, get your entire team together by phone for business-building & marketing on a team conference call. Give everybody the chance to share their ideas or share their problems, and ask for help. 6. Meet the Team Once a week, give your people the opportunity to introduce their new people to the entire team as they join the family and your new reps get a chance to tell the team about themselves. 7. Build a Group of Leaders over time who will be available to help new people do 3way calls to answer prospect questions. 8. The Cruise Ship Rule Some people recruit anything that crawls, walks or slithers. A good rule of thumb is, Is this someone youd like to go on a 30-day cruise with? If not, let them go. 9. Action Plan Write out a step-by-step action plan, taking your new recruit from just starting to successfully building.

Resources.

Offer your people a wide variety of training & businessbuilding materials online and offline. 11. Team Call audio files for team members.

Record every phone training you do and post them in a file online. A new team member can get up-to-speed in a hurry in your audio file archives. 12. Team Call audio files for prospects.

Each company has a set of presentations they know to be effective. Have someone who is really good record each of these. Post them on separate webpages. Direct your prospect to the right audio file at the appropriate time in the recruiting process. 13. Instant marketing/advertising help.

As soon as you have a few people, start an online discussion group. We recommend http://yahoogroups.com/. Everybody can participate by email and ask the Team any question about marketing, advertising, product, etc. Its a huge benefit for people to be able to get questions answered 24/7. And as your team grows, youll build Yahoo group archives with incredibly valuable information. 14. How To Write Your WHY.

Have everyone on your team write out their personal, stepby-step plan to motivate yourself to success. Put up your own password-protected Team website.

Here is a good place to post your Action Plan and Resources and Audio Files, etc. 16. Know Your Competitors.

Over time, gather compensation plans, Policies & Procedures, & member evaluations of as many different network marketing companies as you can. These can be made available on your team website. 17. Personal coaching & mentoring.

Make it available for all team members, no matter where they are in the genaeology (upline, downline, crossline). For this to work, #18 must be in place. 18. You MUST be a mentor with a servants heart.

Those with a greed or ego focus are NOT the type of people who can build long-term relationships. You cant afford to have them on your team. You must put together a group of people who take joy from helping others, regardless of the financial reward. 19. FREE training for all your people.

Have team leaders do training by conference calls & email. Meanwhile, newer members focus solely on promoting the calls & discussion group, to bring new people into their business and to learn the skills necessary to take over the training, giving themselves more credibility with the public. 20. Give complete training in how to interview prospects.

The key word here is, LISTEN! We have a list of questions we use in the interview process. (Call me at 1-850-997-1241 if youd like the list.) When you interview prospects, youll get the information you need to decide who you want in your business with you.

Family atmosphere.

You want people who are comfortable around people like yourself people who get turned on by helping others. They will fit right into your family. Again, your target market is those who truly want to help others. 22. Constant encouragement & support.

From all, for all. When you are building relationships, you dont want devils advocates. Cynicism & negativism are not tolerated. Smart, dedicated, skilled people can accomplish anything by brainstorming, testing, and then focusing on what is proven to work to build their businesses. 23. Group Conference calls.

On your calls, offer lots of tools and relationship training to help your new recruits become successful. Encourage leaders to grow & prosper & build relationships, using whatever methods & skills they choose. Eventually, many of your leaders will have their own team within a team calls. 24. Effective Marketing Tools.

Get team members to share tools they have used that worked flyers, emails, ads, etc. 25. Recruit a copywriting professional to your team.

Offer to build them a business. A pro can create effective marketing pieces like this one for every group member to use. The right person can make a huge difference in your marketing effectiveness. 26. What To Say To Prospects!

Record someone in your company who gets really good results in talking to prospects. Make this audio available in your Team website back office.
