of a single circuit must be tied with plastic cable ties inside a panel distribution so that it is
easy to identify and track.

 Adherence to the wire colors for each phase, neutral and ground line, and not reversing
the phase sequence arrangement.

 Tags of feeder cables to identify cable or circuit number and conductor size in accordance
with the schedules.

 An additional number of spare branch breakers, at a rate of 10-20% of the total number
of breakers must be installed according to GEIRB (R-3) page No. 96.

 All exterior and interior steel surfaces of the Panel Boards will be properly cleaned after
completion of work and all rubbish, dust will be removed from inside and around the Panel
Boards by using brushers, vacuum cleaner etc…..

 Grounding the distribution panel have to be taken into account, the door and other places
carrying current. It's forbidden to connect the neutral line to the ground in the panel.

 Electrical circuits must be numbered and named (Identification), where the name of the
circuit is placed or label the wires and cables at the beginning and end of the circuit using

7.6 Testing

 On completion of the installation and prior to its being made “Alive” for service, all the
electrical test will carried out all sections of the works in the presence of the Consultants’
and all the tests will be carried out in compliance with SBC 401: section 6-1 regulations
and the contract specifications. All the test reports will be submitted to the Consultants’
along with the As-built drawings and Operation and Maintenance documents.
 The test includes the following:-

 Continuity of conductors test for :

a) Protective conductors, including main and supplementary.
b) In case of ring final circuits, live conductors.
 Insulation resistance of the electrical installation between live conductors and the protective
conductor connected to the earth. For the purpose of this test live conductors may be connect
together, table 61-1 in SBC401 showing the measured resistance as follow:

 Protection by automatic disconnection of the supply.

8. Quality inspection role within the construction process

 The contractor shall submit ITPs based on the scope of work and design standards of the
projects, for approval. The ITPs shall set out the sequence of construction activities for
inspection, examination, and testing, and include the type and level of inspection such as
hold, witness and review points for the contractor and the client.
 The contractor shall submit a Bi-Weekly Construction Look Ahead schedule to the project
