MID-YEAR EXAMS, KNOCKOFF TIME AND PROJECT EXHIBITION (TERM 2)

Dear FNS Family

We hope this newsletter finds you well. We would like to take this opportunity to provide you
with some important updates regarding the upcoming mid-year exams and the knockoff time
during the mid-term exams.

As we approach the halfway mark of the academic year, it’s time for our students to
showcase their learning and knowledge through the mid-year exams. These exams are
crucial in assessing their progress and identifying areas where further support may be
needed. The exams will be held from the 10th of July (Grade 12: 03th of July) and the
examination timetable has been shared with students.

During exams, students will be free to go home at 12:00. However, there will be instances
where students will end their days at 13:30 owing to the need to write Paper 3s.

Please also diarise the dates for the project exhibitions for intermediate to senior phase.

PROJECT EXHIBITION DATES

• Intermediate Phase (grade 4 to 6): 24th of July 2023, 11:00 to 12:00
• Pre-school and Foundation Phase (grade RR to 3): 28th of July 2023, 08:30 to 10:15
• Senior Phase (grade 7 to 9): 28th of July 2023, 10:30 to 12:00

The project exhibitions will answer this term’s driving questions for each phase namely:
• Preschool: Why do we need transport?
• Grade R: How can I live a healthy lifestyle?
• Grade 1: Why are animals important?
• Grade 2: How can we create a fun library environment?
• Grade 3: How can going green save the earth?
• Grade 4: Why are the Big 5 animals important?
• Grade 5: How can the knowledge of Project-Based Learning be imparted to others?
• Grade 6: What is our contribution in the fight against Cancer in our communities?
