● 1929: Born Singanalluru Puttaswamy Annappa in Gajanur, Karnataka.

● 1953: Makes his film debut in "Bedare Kangal" with a supporting role.
● 1956: Lands his first lead role in "Bhagya Chakra" and begins his journey to
stardom.
Rise to Stardom and Cultural Icon:
● 1960s: Delivers iconic performances in films like "Bhakta Kumbara" (1963),
"Karnan" (1968), and "Babruvahana" (1967), solidifying his position as a
Kannada cinema legend.
● 1970s: Continues to dominate the box office with films like "Jedige" (1973)
and family dramas like "Bhale Jodi" (1973).
● 1980s-1990s: Maintains his popularity with diverse roles, showcasing his
