Minicat PORTABLE ScaLE PACING List 18 1. GENERAL DESCRIPTION Minicat portablo scale is dosignod by Motlor Tolodo updating technology. It is used for the purpose of industrial or commercial environments. This series portable soale utilizes high accuracy MT load call and Minicat indicator with stable and reliable quality, rugged and durable . It is special suitable for weighing small capacity items under dry circumstance ,such as vegetables, melon and fruit, foodstuff ete. Remove the platier take off the shipping protective plate from four comers of the scale. Level the scole by adjusting the four supports fill the bubble in the middle ofthe ring, BUBBLE ISCENTERED BUBBLE IS NOT CENTERED. CORRECET INCORRECT Adjust proper angle of the indicator and fasten the bolt Cover the platter, then power up the indicator. 2.4 WIRING 2.5 Indicator Powerup Minicat indicator was well connected with load cell in factory. There is not any wiring at user's site. 9 pins D-sub for Load cell is assigned as below: 9 Pins D-sub Signal +£XC SHIELD “EXC +516 “SIG Check the power Ok, setup electrical outlet reliable . Then plug in and powerup the indicator. The indicator will self-test automaticlly when powerup: 1). All segments of display will ight. Operator shall checkup whether the display is OK. (2). Detect the memory of indicator. Error message will display during powerup process. Refer to the error code table) 3. Minicat Basic Operation 3.1 Display Panel The display of Minicat is made up six red LED, 0.56" height.Where five digits is for weight and the sixth digit is for "display negative ; indicating motion. Two cursors indicate gross zero and net weight separately. This display is used for showing weighing data, operation prompt and error code ect. Minicat indicator has two buttons of *Zero/ON-OFF and "Tare" ‘The display screen , keyboard of Minicat is shown as below. 3.2 Basic Operation ‘* Weighing mode function "Zero/ON-OFF* button . On/Off power and zero the scale. When the power fo be turned off, this button shall be pressed down and hold for 3~5 seconds till showing ‘OFF",, then close the indicator. "Tare" button: In gross mode, the displayed weight will be fored as {are value by pressing this button and displayed net weight is zero. In net weight mode, tare value will be cleared by pressing this button ,and return gross mode. When press "Zero/ON-OFF" and "Tare" at the same time, the indicator will enter service mode and parameter setup. Parameter setup and calibration mode funetion. "Zero/ON-OFF" button : Press this button to accept the current selected parameter and go fo next setup "Tare" button : Select the setup parameter by pressing this button Power up and self check When pressing [Zero/ON-OFF] button, the indicator power-up and the soale will firstly self check RAM ond ROM , then enter normal operation mode. The self check process will go through light all display segment, display software part number and version, capture ero , then enter normal operation mode. 4, Parameter Setup and Scale Calibration STII i iii 4.1 Accessing setup mode Open MINICAT indicator enclosure and short jumper J5 on controler PCB, then open circuit and enter setup mode Display as below: ae Parameter Configuration ‘Setup item Optional Value ‘O=Normal display 1=Expand display (Show infernal counts O=+2%FS 1=£20%FS O=skip calibration enter calibration O=give up amendment T= save 4.2 Soale Calibration ‘Sequence Step 1: Display scale capacity when enter calibration ET co Display default capacity 100Kg, press [TARE] butlon successively, the display will show 100 Kg. 120 Kg. 150 Kg. 200 Kg. 300 Kg. 600 Kg. 1000 Kg. 15 Kg. 30 Kg. 60 Kg, Select a desired capacity, then press [ZERO/ON-OFF] button to confirm, and advance to select calibration weight as shown below: if 100Kg Is selected) EI D The calibration weight value can select SO%FS , 75%FS or 1OO%FS through [TARE] button. Then press [ZERO/ON-OFF] button to confirm that selected value and enter to emply scale calibration shown as Step 2: (it 100%FS is selected ) Step 2: Emply scale calibration area Take off all the weight items from the scale platter, then press [ZERO/ON-OFF] button , display counts down from 5 to 0. That means emply sale zero calibration. if any motion is detected during the process, restart calibration. Note: Do not change the loaded test weight at discretion. Press [ZERO/ON-OFF] button, display counts down from 5 to 0, indicate SPAN calibration . If any motion is detected during this process, restart SPAN calibration. When completing calibration , then enter next step automatically. Step 4: End option When calibration is completed, the indicator will show as below: Here "0" indicates giving up the above amendment and calibration. Use [TARE] button to select ” 0 “or” 1”. To save all amendment and calibration, then select "1" Press [ZERO/ON-OFF] button fo save the selected parameter and the result of calibration. Then enter normal weighing mode after auto seltesting 4.3 Operation parameter setup Enter setup mode In normal weighing mode, press down and hold (TARE] button for 3 ‘seconds, display will show as below, that indicates the scale has entered setup mode. aD 0 Operation parameter configuration Configuration Parameter Fl External display resolution. Maintenance 5.1 Maintenance fool in common use Monkey wrench Cross screw driver Inner hexagon spanner Inner hexagon box spanner Moment wrench 0-100Nm Multimeter Load cell simulator 5.2 Daily clean and maintenance Periodically clean the faceplate of Minicat with a soft clean cotton cloth that hos been dampened with a mild cleaner. Do not use industrial solvent to clean keyboard and display panel. Do not spray cleaner directly onto the unit Use gauze and alcohol wipe the stainless platter. The scale base can be cleaned by using gauze, or huff-gun to clean dust. Ni 5.3 Troubleshooting Error Codes Minicat portable soale of Wildcat series uses Mettier-Toledo high ‘accuracy load cell and Minicat indicator with stable quality and durobilty. This device will not go awry . In case , you encounter operational dificuties or problems, firstly you shall reat the indicator ‘according to the error massages as possible as regarding the problem, WARNING: Only permit qualified personnel fo service this equipment, MINICAT provides sel-diagnosticate function of trouble or operation. The bracket shall short fo ground, LED on controller PCB shall light. Disconnect the rear display harness, display OK when turn on the unit. It not, replace load cell 5.4 Replace Load Call AX WARNING Disconnect power before installion , maintaince and service. Fallure to do so could resutt in bodily harm, Take down fautt load cell ‘+ Remove the scale platter, and put it on the level carpet. ‘* Loosen the tighten bolt of load cell on top base of scale by using inner hex spanner. ‘* Remove top base of scale and load cell pad. ‘* Loosen tighten bolt of load cell on the bottom base of scale. ‘+ Remove load cell and pad. Install new load call ‘+ Install oad cell pad , load cell and bolt on the bottom base of scale: @. Make sure load direction of load cell b. Tighten load cell bolt ‘+ Install overload stop screw B: Install two overload stop bolts with nut in the middle position on the botlom base of scale ‘* Install load cell pad and top base of scale: Mount load cell pad and load cell on top base of the scale using four screws, washers and flats Requirement: @, The scale shall retain parallel from top to bottom , right to left direction.(use eyeballing). b. Open indicator enclosure. Set jumper according to the manual instruction, Shift test ond adjustment: 2, Make the platter of the scale upside down on the scale base, place test weight (equal to 1/3 F.S) on the four comer os figure shown below: b. Verify the tolerance of four comets and make adjustment for shif, i necessary. ( The tolerance table as below stated is for shift test). Set jumper according fo the manual. Use a proper test weight (70% Max F.S ) to setup the scale to weighing mode, Place test weight of 1/3 F.S (maximum) on 1, 2, 3 and 4 positions successively as above figure shown . Refer to the following tolerance table.
