CLASSIFICATION OF BAKED PRODUCTS


 BAKED BREAD, BARS & COOKIES

Buns- A bun is a small, sometimes sweet,


bread-based item or roll. Though they come in
many shapes and sizes, they are most
commonly hand-sized or smaller, with a round
top and flat bottom. Buns are usually made
from flour, sugar, milk, yeast and butter.
Baked Oatmeal Bars - with a coconut
graham cracker crust topped with walnuts,
two types of chocolate and butterscotch
chips. Just one small square of these rich
bars is sure to satisfy any dessert craving.

Bagels - are boiled first to create a crunchy


exterior. Bagels are boiled in water usually 30 to 60
seconds before hitting the oven. Since the crust is
set from the boiling process, bagels don't rise as
much as other bread once baked in the oven,
giving bagels their dense and chewy interior.

Bread - is a staple food prepared from a


dough of flour and water, usually by
baking. Throughout recorded history, it
has been a prominent food in large parts
of the world.

Cookies - is a baked or cooked food that is


typically small, flat and sweet. It usually
contains flour, sugar and some type of oil or
fat. It may include other ingredients such as
raisins, oats, chocolate chips, nuts, etc.

Pizzas - a dish of Italian origin consisting


of a flat, round base of dough baked with
a topping of tomato sauce and cheese,
typically with added meat or vegetables.
 BAKED CAKES, PIES AND CUPCAKES

Cheesecake - is a sweet dessert consisting


of one or more layers. The main, and thickest
layer, consists of a mixture of soft, fresh
cheese, eggs, and sugar. If there is a bottom
layer, it often consists of a crust or base
made from crushed cookies, graham
crackers, pastry, or sometimes sponge cake.

Shortcake - is a sweet cake or biscuit in the


American sense that is a crumbly bread that
has been leavened with baking powder or
baking soda. In the UK, the term shortcake
refers to a biscuit similar to shortbread. They
Chiffon Cake - A chiffon cake is a very light
cake made with vegetable oil, eggs, sugar,
flour, baking powder, and flavorings. Being
