Good Governance
Duty to govern in a way that may disseminate happiness amongst maximum number
of subjects.
The rulers being bound by dharma ensuring good governance to the people
Although monarchy prevailed, there was no place for any theory of the divine rights
of the kings or of arbitrary rule.
Raj Dharam was the code of conduct or the rule of law that was superior to the will of
the ruler and governed all his actions.

other God but the one God of truth and righteousness.”

meanest citizen could be sure of swift justice without an elaborate and costly
