Dear Parents,

Welcome back to the school year! I am excited to be your

child's 5th grade math/science teacher this year. This is my fifth
year of teaching, while I have previously taught 7th grade math. I
am passionate about teaching and helping students learn.
This year, our school is focusing on our students, with an even
bigger focus on Leader in Me. Leader in Me is a character
education program that teaches students social and emotional
skills. In math, we will be learning about volume, fractions,
decimals, graphing, multiplication/division, and
expressions/equations. In science, we will be learning about
scientific investigations, forces/motion, light/sound,
space/moon/sun/earth, and life cycles/types of organisms.
I expect my students to be prepared for school with all their
supplies and work completed. I will be communicating with parents
regularly through Parent Square messages or phone calls. If you
have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact
me.
