Will

Estructure: [Subject] + will + [verb] + [complement]

Subject: The subject of the sentence (could be "I," "you," "he," "she," "it," "we," "they," etc.).

will: El modal auxiliar "will."

Verb: The verb in its base form (infinitive) sin "to."

Complement: Optional, it is what will be done in the future.

Examples:

1. I will visit my friend tomorrow. (Yo visitaré a mi amigo mañana.)


2. You will learn a lot in this class. (Tú aprenderás mucho en esta clase.)
3. She will travel to Europe next year. (Ella viajará a Europa el próximo año.)
4. We will have a party on Friday. (Nosotros tendremos una fiesta el viernes.)
5. They will finish the project by the end of the week. (Ellos terminarán el proyecto para
el final de la semana.)

Remember that "will" is used to express future actions, predictions, promises and spontaneous
decisions. You can use "will not" or its contracted form "won't" to express the denial of a future
action. For example, "I won't go to the party tonight."

Be going to

Estructura: [Subject] + am/is/are going to + [verbo] + [complemento]

Subject: El sujeto de la oración (puede ser "I," "you," "he," "she," "it," "we," "they," etc.).

am/is/are going to: La forma correspondiente del verbo "to be" seguida de "going to."

Verb: The verb in its base form (infinitive) without "to."

Complement: Optional, it is what we plan to do in the future.

Examples:

1. I am going to visit my grandmother on Saturday. (Voy a visitar a mi abuela el sábado.)


2. They are going to have a picnic in the park tomorrow. (Ellos van a hacer un picnic en el
parque mañana.)
3. She is going to start a new job next week. (Ella va a empezar un trabajo nuevo la
próxima semana.)
4. We are going to buy a new car next year. (Vamos a comprar un coche nuevo el próximo
año.)
5. He is going to study for the exam tonight. (Él va a estudiar para el examen esta noche.)

Remember that "be going to" is used to express plans and intentions for the future. It is a
common way of talking about what you have decided to do in the near future.
