Role of HRM in imbibing CSR culture in businesses

Panels
An innovation-led growth model for India
Innovation is seen as an important tool for achieving international competitiveness and growth in an increasingly globalizing and knowledge-based world economy. In the early stages, growth is driven by efficient exploitation of natural resources and labour. Subsequently, capital accumulation triggers economic growth. But, it becomes stagnant unless it is fueled by productivity enhancement through innovation. India has exhibited a positive trend in R&D spending but faces challenges in protecting indigenous innovation and industrial designs.

The Green Business: Enabling a sustainable future

With over 8 billion people expected to inhabit our planet by 2025, the planet's resources are bound to face enormous constraints. Predictably, green practices will become a way for businesses in India and across the globe. Green technology, innovation and R&D will constitute the core of major business decisions, especially when tough calls will have to be taken on trade-off between growth and maintaining ecological balance. Do we have clear answers for our future generations? We invite experts to deliberate on the most debated topic.

Role of HR in imbibing CSR culture in businesses

As the concept of corporate social responsibility (CSR) becomes embedded in mainstream organizational strategy, it is important that HR professionals understand their role in the organization's CSR program. HR has to play a major leadership role in development and monitoring of staff policies and practices where the business objectives are assessed and values re-aligned to match them with staff expectations. CSR is an opportunity for HR to demonstrate a strategic focus and act as a business partner.

Corruption: Choice or compulsion?

Crony capitalism, scam-tainted government functionaries, pilferages, leakages corruption is all pervasive in India. In the backdrop of a groundswell of popular opinion against this malaise and growing restlessness of civil society, we invite a panel of eminent speakers to debate on this contentious issue and how it can hamper the corporate growth story.
