a) Scholastic awards or scholarships conferred on you (if applicable) - I was awarded the
Late Smt. Swarnalata N. Shukla Medal for Best Academic Performance in Bachelor in
Management Studies of SK Somaiya College of Arts, Science and Commerce batch of 2016-2019.
b) Give details about your accomplishments, awards received and position held in sports
and hobbies- As a member of my school's basketball team (Under 14 Group), I won district
championships and represented the school at state level. I have also represented my school's
cricket and football teams at district level.
Hobbies –
Whenever life becomes a bit monotonous, hobbies provide me with an opportunity for escape.
They allow you to do something you enjoy, which is the cornerstone of being prosperous. I have
several hobbies, but the majority involve being outdoors. Since my childhood, I have always
struggled to stay indoors for a long time, so sports have been my hobby of choice. Be it cricket or
football, I always try to incorporate sports into my schedule. I also enjoy listening to podcasts
and reading books/articles about sports. As I've grown older, I've developed an interest in
trekking and in traveling as well. I've traveled across India and nothing beats the experience of
traveling across India and witnessing different cultures and meeting new people. Since most of
the world has been forced to remain indoors as a result of the pandemic, I have developed a new
hobby of watching movies and trying to understand and study the plot, characters, and thought
process behind the movie and take inspiration wherever possible. All in all, I truly believe my
hobbies have played a crucial role in shaping my personality.

Why do you wish to pursue the education in management, and what is your career
plan(s)?
After having obtained my Bachelor's degree in Management and gaining three years of
experience, I believe this is the right time for me to pursue an MBA. My major motivations for
pursuing an MBA included gaining a more comprehensive understanding of business disciplines
like finance, Human Resources, and operations, which I was unable to get from my Bachelor's
degree. This knowledge will help me to think critically, holistically, and laterally. In addition, I
relish the opportunity to study with some of the most brilliant minds from different
backgrounds, working together on projects and learning from their various points of view and
how to be part of a team. I also see pursuing an MBA along with its extra-curricular activities as
an opportunity to build upon my leadership skills, communication, and interpersonal skills in a
group setting. The exposure an MBA program provides with its live industry projects, corporate
connects and student exchange programs are also critical reasons behind my wanting to pursue
an MBA. Pursuing an MBA will also allow me to connect with a wide alumni network, who works
as a community, and provide me with an opportunity to connect with people from across
domains and help me grow in the industry. A secondary motive behind my pursuing an MBA
would be the experience of a residential program that an MBA provides that I’ve never
experienced before, the chance of being independent in a highly competitive MBA environment I
believe will have a positive impact on me.
Based on my experience in Media Network Sales for the past three years, in which I assisted a
variety of advertisers to reach their marketing objectives, my short-term professional goal is to
pursue an MBA which will equip me with all the skills needed to excel as a brand
manager/marketing manager of a brand that is ambitious, innovative, and aims to have a
positive impact on the society. The iconic TV advertisements of the 90s fascinated me as a child,
thus inspiring a lifelong interest in brands. Driving a brand's image and developing creative and
disruptive marketing strategies interests me. In the long term, I aim to be a growth driver for a
brand on a national and international level wherein I’ll be responsible for developing new
business opportunities as well as developing new solutions to customer needs and trying to
bring a positive impact on the industry as well as society.
Why do you consider yourself a suitable candidate for PGPSM?
The PGPSM course focuses on developing students that can create value not just for the
organization but also the society. Throughout my life especially during my time in the Rotaract
Club of SK Somaiya through various roles, I’ve shown that I’m someone who believes in
contributing towards the welfare of society. During my tenure, I’ve organized and been part of
various activities that have led to the betterment of the community at large. I’ve also held
various leadership roles throughout my life showing my appetite for becoming a leader. During
my tenure as Board of Director of my college management festival, I was responsible for
organizing a leadership conclave and music festival on a very tight budget by reducing cost,
optimising resources, which I believe is an important aspect of Sustainable Management. As a
Network Sales Executive at Viacom18, one of main responsibilities was always to increase
revenue of the organization by exploring and cracking new business opportunities.
What are your motivations/ triggers for wanting to pursue this programme?
In today’s world with businesses recognizing the environmental issues, climate changes, and
greater emphasis on social responsibility, I believe future leaders will need to be knowledgeable
about sustainable management to succeed. The PGPSM program at IIM Lucknow provides me
with the opportunity to gain an understanding of the societal, environmental, and business
aspects of sustainability, which I believe are fundamental to being a responsible manager of the
future. PGPSM has a conscientious curriculum that has the right blend of general management
courses along with specialized courses on sustainability. The integrated three-term live project
with the industry as well as the international immersion program will give me an opportunity
not provided by many other colleges, which is also a motivation for wanting to pursue this
program at IIM Lucknow.
What are your short term and long-term career plans? How do you envisage this
programme taking you closer to your goals?
In the short term, I aim to pursue an MBA which will equip me to excel as a brand/marketing
manager for a brand that is ambitious, and innovative and aims to have a positive impact on
society. In the long term, I aim to drive the business of a brand at national and international
levels and be responsible for developing new opportunities for business as well as new
solutions for customers' needs. The PGPSM program will develop me into a person
knowledgeable about sustainable management, which I believe will be an important aspect of
my short and long-term goals. I truly believe the leaders of the future cannot succeed without
thinking of both the organization as well as society, this is where I believe the program will
equip me with all the necessary skills.
