Emily is making a birdhouse with her dad. They make the


birdhouse out of wood. It has a little door and windows and a place for
food and water. Emily’s dad says that birdhouses are important. He
says, “There aren’t many birds in cities these days. They can’t find safe
places for their nests. But this birdhouse is a safe place. Birds can live in
it and have babies.” Emily wants to welcome many birds. So she puts
seeds and fruits in the birdhouse. She even gives it a name. She calls it
Nest House. “Come on, birds,” she says. “Come to Nest House!”
