ABSTRACT
Food spoilage is a major concern worldwide, leading to
significant economic losses and health risks.

This project aims to address these challenges by

developing an IoT-based system that continuously
monitors the environmental conditions of food storage
areas, such as temperature, humidity, and gas levels.
PROBLEM STATEMENT
Access to food is not available to all the people of this
world. Also people who have access to food, usually, don't
what they are consuming is safe or not.
So we are planning to shed light on what we are consuming
and create awareness about how serious food wastage is
and enhance food safety.
INTRODUCTION
We propose the development of an IoT-based food spoilage detection
system. This system will leverage interconnected devices, sensor
technology, and data analysis to monitor environmental conditions in food
storage areas. By analyzing the collected data, the system will be able to
detect patterns and anomalies that indicate potential spoilage.
The key challenges to be addressed in this project include designing an
effective sensor network, developing robust data analysis algorithms,
ensuring seamless wireless communication, and integrating the system with
existing food storage infrastructure. The system should be user-friendly,
cost-effective, and capable of handling large-scale food storage operations.

EMPATHY
In some countries, majority of people struggles on daily
basis for food, due to preservation of foods and use of
chemicals to artificially increase the time span of food
causes people illness.

It is mandatory to grow a system that can assist people to

identify the elegance of food or quality of food items.

The rotted or not fit for usage food causes a major food
related illness called as food poisoning, this is one of the
diseases along with various other such diseases related to
spoiled food.
EXISTING SYSTEM
The current approach to detecting food spoilage often relies on human
senses, such as visual inspection, smell, and taste. However, these
methods are subjective, time-consuming, and prone to errors. They also
lack real-time monitoring capabilities and proactive alerts.

Manual Monitoring Systems: Some food storage facilities may use

manual monitoring systems that involve periodic checks of temperature
and humidity using handheld devices. However, these systems are
limited in their ability to provide continuous monitoring and timely
notifications.
PROPOSED SYSTEM
Customizable Alert Thresholds: Allowing users to set customizable alert
thresholds based on their specific requirements and storage conditions
is important. This flexibility ensures that the system can be adapted to
different types of food products and storage

Data Analytics and Insights: Enhancing the system with advanced data
analytics capabilities can provide users with actionable insights. This
includes identifying trends, correlations, and patterns in the collected
data to optimize storage conditions, predict potential spoilage, and
improve inventory management practices.

FUTURE ENHANCEMENT
Wireless Connectivity: The existing systems may rely on manual data
collection or wired connections. The project could introduce wireless
connectivity to enable seamless and automated data transmission from
the sensors to a central hub or server for analysis.
Automated Data Analysis: Instead of relying solely on human
interpretation, the project could incorporate advanced data analysis
techniques, such as machine learning algorithms, to analyze the
collected sensor data. This would allow for more accurate and timely
detection of patterns and anomalies associated with food spoilage.
Enhanced User Interface: The user interface of the existing systems may
be simplified and made more user-friendly, ensuring that food storage
personnel can easily understand and interpret the data provided by the
IoT-based system.
