Tadao Ando's Early Life


Born on September 13, 1941, in Osaka,
Japan.
Raised in a working-class
neighborhood with limited exposure to
architecture.
Self-Taught Architect
Initially worked as a truck driver and
boxer. Inspired by travels to Europe and
exposure to architectural masterpieces.
Began studying architecture on his own
and exploring construction sites.
