I. COMMITTING TO TEACHING
Key Principle: Teaching is a vocation, a calling; therefore, the teacher shall remain
committed.
OBSERVATION PHASE:
A. Interview a teacher about the purpose of assessment. Ask the following
questions:
1. What do you expect from a student teacher?
The purpose of assessment can be divided into three integral parts. First is to
assess if the students acquired the learning competencies of the current lesson, second
is to use assessment to analyze if the students are ready to move on to the new lesson
or topic, and lastly, the assessment is also use by the learner so that they can assess
their own learnings.
I expect that the student teacher must enthusiastic and committed in her observation.
I also expect the student teacher to have a strong personality and knows how to handle
the diversity of the students.

2. What should a student teacher do to be able to grow professionally?

Love the teaching profession and sincerely care for the students. Don’t be afraid
to make mistakes but see to it that you are always open to learn and always push
your limitation.
