Objective

The objective of this course is to ensure skills for proper use


of the ECS/Control Center in relation to day-to-day process
control.

 The participants will

• Achieve an overview of the system and understand the basic


ECS/Control System functions.

Navigation between Mimics can be performed via

Matrix Tool: In the Top Tool Bar. Push Icon opens a Matrix
with all accessible Mimics for the present Role.

Navigator: In the Top Tool Bar. Push Icon opens Navigator in lower
right corner. +/- Changes the Level, The 4 arrows changes mimic
based on the mimic order represented in the Matrix.

Keyboard Keyboard Arrow Navigation is following the same principles as


Arrows for the “Navigator”.

Move Hold down left mouse button and move mouse will change
Mouse mimic.

 Explore the different options when logged on as FlsOperator.


o Navigate between Pictures using Matrix and Arrow keys
o Open the faceplates and resize them

Task 2, Start Equipment

 Start the transport & feeding groups in the Material transport Department.
o If some causes occur that it is not possible to start. Troubleshoot and abolish
the causes. (Use Device Simulation).

 Start 110CR02M01 in manual mode and in local mode.

Task 3, change set point
 Change the PID of the feeding level controller (110SI03N01I01SPA) to manual mode.
 Change the manual output set point to 100 T/H and observe the feedback for belt
feeder’s different flows.
 Change the PID to automatic mode with 50% automatic set point and check the
behavior of feeders flow rate as well as the hopper level.

HMI Trend

Task 1, Open Trend curve


 Open mimic picture for Material transport.
 Check the trend curve for Belt Feeder 01 Material flow 110BF01N01F01.
 Try to adjust the axes scale as well as changing between text and description view.
Guidance:

Task 2, Open Trend Package

 Open one of the Trend Packages.


 Enable the highlight function and select different points
 Enable multiple axis and change the X-axis scale for some of the points

Task 3, Add extra tags to a Trend Package

 Add 2 new points into the Trend View. 1 drag from a mimic and 1 by using the “Add
Tag” feature of the open Trend View.

Task 4, Modify a Trend Package

 Use some time to explore the other options of the Trend Feature. Include change of
the time horizon, color of trends and thickness of trends.
 Save the modified Trend package with a new name. Check the new package is
stored.

Task 5, Notes on trend
 Use the track function on a trend and Add a Note.
 Show the note on the trend and try to activate/ deactivate it.

 Export the Trend package View and open exported files for both export options in a
text editor.
Guidance:

HMI Alarm/Event System
Task 1, Alarm Header and Alarm Live

 Trigger an alarm by changing an analog point value, displayed on one of the Mimics
beyond one of its alarm limits. (Via device simulation)
 Monitor the effect in the alarm header and alarm live.
 What is the color of the department tab the point belong
 Acknowledge the alarm – what happened
 Change the value of the point inside the alarm limit what happened
 Open the Event Historian and repeat the excises above
 What is the difference between the Alarm Live and the Event Historian?

HMI Report
In this exercise, a report will be modified.

Task 1, View a report


 Start the Report Viewer and open the preconfigured Report: “Crusher production”.
Add an extra Analog Point with the category “Average” to the existing Report and
show the Report from the present hour backwards.

How to start and stop a motor


The objective is to show how a motor manually can be started and stopped. Motors will
start/stop in the programmed start/stop sequence, but in Manual mode motor can be
individually started and stopped from the faceplate.

First step shows how to stop a Motor Group to release Motors for manual operation

How to start and stop group motors


The objective is to show how to start and stop the group motors. Before starting the group,
certain conditions have to be checked such as group inputs and group interlocks are healthy.
If both are healthy then the group can be started.

How to change a Setpoint


The objective is to change a set point from the ECC Operator Station. Set points play an
important role to handle/maintain process flow to achieve the desired results. For e.g. level
controller for different bet feeders set points rations based on desired hopper level

How to open a trend curve


Trend curves can be used to supervise a process (temperature, pressure, airflow, is the motor
running, etc.). Trend curves give important information to the operators about the state of the
process. Trend curves are also used for analyzing previous difficulties.
The navigation column is a guideline for opening a trend curve for the finish cement
temperature

Step by Step

How to open /create Trend package


Trend package contains a collection of predefined points which are used to analyze the
statistical data in value versus time.

A maximum of more than 16 points can be assigned to a trend package. Based on the horizon
each 10 sec spot value is updated and displayed as trend curve.

Step by Step

How to view/adjust the trend


Trend helps to view the historic data in value verses time graph. Plot tab displays historical data
for the points assigned to the trend group.
You can view the trend in extended view, highlight the alarms, super Y-axis, set x-axis and y-
axis scale etc.
Different view of horizons can be selected from the horizon selector bar. By default the plot
window opens with the default horizon. When pressed will show the data in the package
horizon associated with the package .

How to create a trend from the


OpStation/Point List
Objective is to add multiple points (trends) from ECC V8 Workplace and point list.

You can choose multiple points from ECC V8 Workplace and view the trend for those points or
you can select multiple points from point list and view the plot for the respective points in Point
Trend.

How to edit/delete a trend


package
Objective is to modify / delete the existing trend package. Trend plot can be modified by adding
more points, changing trend line color, setting default horizon etc. While deleting the trend
package the points attached to it also get lost, so before deleting you have to confirm it.

Alarm limits can be changed in the ECC Workplace Server (point editor) or in the PLC
(Faceplate).

The objective is to suppress an alarm. Alarms can be suppressed either by a parent point or by
an operator.
Alarms suppressed by parent points are indicated by ‘PAlmSu’ (point alarm suppressed) and by
operator as ‘OAlmSu’ (operator alarm suppressed). Let see operator alarm suppressed
‘OAlmSu’.
