Solution:

From (i), we get two possibilities: case (i) and case(ii).

In case (i), if S sits at place no. 2 of Row -II and B will sit at place no. 5 of Row-I and P will sit at place no. 4 of Row – II.

From (ii), A cannot be at place no. 1 of Row – II. So, he will sit at place no. 2 and the person who is facing Q is B. Q will sit
at place no. 5 of Row – II.

In case (ii), if S sits at place no. 3 of Row -II and B will sit at place no. 6 of Row-I and S will sit at place no. 5 of Row – II.

From (ii), A cannot be at place no. 2 of Row – II. So, he will sit at place no. 1 and the person who is facing Q is not known.
Q will sit at place no. 4 of Row – II.

6
Answer_Assignment 2_Level 2_Seating Arrangement

From (iii) and (iv), C will sit at place no. 4 of Row – I and E will sit at place no. 1 of Row – I.

Case (ii) will get discarded as there is no place left for E.

From (iv), F will sit at place no. 3 of Row - I and T will sit at place no. 1 of Row – II. U will sit at place no. 6 and R will sit at
place no. 3. Only place left for D is place no. 6.

Solution:
Fom (i), if Aamir sits at place no. 1, then Kareena will sit at place no. 6.
From (iv), it is clear that Aamir is sitting third to the right of the person who is going to Paris. So, Katrina who is sitting at
place no. 6 is going to Paris.
From (ii), there will be two possibility: case (i) and case (ii).
In case (i), if Salman will sit at place no. 7, then Katrina will sit at place no. 8.
In case (ii), if Salman will sit bat place no. 3, then Katrina will sit at place no. 2.
From (ii), if Katrina will sit at place no. 2, then the person who will go to Goa will sit at place no. 4 and also from (vii),
person who is going to Goa is sitting to the right of the person whose destination is Russia. Therefore, person who is
going to Russia should sit at place no. 6, which cannot be possible because Katrina who is going to Paris is already sitting
there.
Case(ii) is incorrect.
Now, Katrina will sit at place no. 8, then the person who is going to Goa will sit at place no. 2. From (vii), the person who
is going to Goa sits second to the right of the person who is going to Russia. So, the person who is going to Russia will sit
at place no. 4. From (viii), it is clear that Hritik is going to Goa.

From (vi), Shahrukh’s destination is neither Russia nor Dubai and also from (viii), Shahrukh is not an immediate neighbor
of Hritik. So he cannot sit at either place no. 3 or 4. So, the only place left for Shahrukh is place no. 5.
From (v), Priyanka is not an immediate neighbor of Shahrukh. So, the only place left for Priyanka is place no. 3.
Now, only person left is Ranbir and the only place left for him is place no. 4. So, Ranbir will sit at place no. 4.

9
Answer_Assignment 2_Level 2_Seating Arrangement

From(iii), the person whose destination is China sits second to the right of Shahrukh. Therefore, Priyanka will go to
China.
From (vi), Shahrukh’s destination is neither Russia nor Dubai and also from (iv), the person whose destination is Dubia is
sitting second to the right of the person whose destination is Germany. So, Shahrukh’s destination cannot be Germany
because the person whose destination is China is already sitting second to the right of Shahrukh. So, the only destination
left for Shahrukh is Capetown.
From (iv), it is clear that the person whose destination is Germany is Aamir and the person whose destination is Dubai is
Salman.

Answer_Assignment 2_Level 2_Seating Arrangement

Case (ii)

From (ii), Rachit who is an owner of Reliance will sit at place no. 2 in both the cases. The one who is an owner of ICICI will
sit at place no. 8 but as per case (i) and case (ii) Yash and Sumit are sitting there.
From (iv), the one who is an owner of Samsung will sit at place no. 4 but as per case (i) and case (ii) Sumit and Yash are
sitting there.

Case (i)

12
Answer_Assignment 2_Level 2_Seating Arrangement

Case (ii)

From (iv), case (i) will get discarded as there is already Varun between Rachit and Yash. So, we will go further with case
(ii).
Harish will sit place no. 3 is an owner of TATA.
From (v), Praveen will sit at place no. 7 and is an owner of Wipro. The one who is an owner of Godrej will sit at place
no.5. Only place left for Jitendra is place no.5. Only company left for Krishna is HUL as from (i) Krishna is not an owner of
Godrej. So, only company left for Varun is Infosys.

Solution:

If we give numbers to positions starting from left to right as 1,2….5 then Tiger is at place 1 and is a domestic animal who
is facing north.

14
Answer_Assignment 2_Level 2_Seating Arrangement

Since, from (v), Bear and Wolf do not sit at the end and also
From (iv), Bear is facing South. Therefore the only place left for Bear is either place 2 or 4.
Case I- Bear sits at place no 2
Case II- Bear sits at place no 4.

Since, from (vii), Elephant is facing north and also

From (vi), Elephant sits opposite to animal who is next to Cat that means Cat is facing South. Only two consecutive
places left is place 4 and 5.
Now, if Cat is at place no 4 and facing South, Elephant who is facing north will be at place no 5.
Since, from (viii), no one is sitting to the right of Cat. Therefore, Case I is cannot be possible.

Now, Bear sits at place no 4.

Since, from (iv), Bear sits opposite to the neighbour of Wolf and also from (v), Wolf do not sit at the end. Therefore, only
place left for Wolf is place 3 and is facing north.

15
Answer_Assignment 2_Level 2_Seating Arrangement

Since, from (vii), Elephant is facing north and also from (vi), Elephant sits opposite to the animal who is next to Cat.
Therefore, only two consecutive place left is place no 1 and 2.
From (viii), it is clear that no one sits at the right of Cat. Therefore, Cat sits at the place no 1 and is facing south and
Elephant is at place no 2 and is facing north is a wild animal.

From (ii), two animals sit between Lion and Dog. So, the only two places left for them is place no 2 and 5 and are facing
south and also from (ix), Lion is domestic animal.
Since, we know that wild animal do not sit next or opposite to another wild animal. Therefore, Lion will sit at place no 2
and is a domestic animal and Dog will sit at place no 5 and is wild animal.
Since, from (ix), Leopard is a wild animal. So only place left for him is place no 4 and is facing north.

16

5. 1, Hina and Isha on 3rd and 8th floor respectively.

From 1, 2 and 3 we get 2 cases

Case I – When Bhaskar sits on the extreme end

Bhaskar Hina 6th Floor

Case II – When the person living on 6th floor sits on the extreme end

19
Answer_Assignment 2_Level 2_Seating Arrangement

Hina* Bhaskar Hina’ 6th Floor

From 4, person living on 1st floor sits third to the right of Dev. And Dev is not a neighbour of hina. It is also mentioned in
7 that Hina lives on 3rd floor. Thus, only possible arrangements for Dev and 1st floor person are

Case I

Bhaskar Hina 6th Floor 1st Floor

3rd Floor Dev

Case II

Hina* Bhaskar Hina’ 6th Floor

st
Dev’ 1 Floor’

No arrangement for Dev is possible with the position of Hina*. Thus, eliminating that option.

Case II

Dev Bhaskar 1st Floor Hina 6th Floor

From 5,

Case I

Bhaskar Ekta* Hina 2nd Floor* 6th Floor Ekta*’ 1st Floor
nd
2 Floor’ 3rd Floor Ekta’ Dev 2nd Floor'’

Case II

20
Answer_Assignment 2_Level 2_Seating Arrangement

Ekta/2nd Dev 2nd Floor/Ekta Bhaskar 1st Floor Hina 2nd floor 6th Floor
Ekta

From 7, position of Isha, living in floor 8, is to the immediate left of Dev. If Isha sits to the immediate left of Dev in case I,
the position of Ekta/2nd floor clashes with position of Isha, Thus case I discarded. Also, from 6 posible arrangement for
Chirag and Amit is. Thus proceeding with case II.

Isha Dev 2nd Floor’ Bhaskar 1st Floor Hina 2nd floor’’ 6th Floor
8th F Ekta Amit Chirag

According to 7, one who lives on 5th floor sits third to right of the one who lives on the 7th floor. The only possible
arrangement is when Bhaskar lives on floor 7th and Amit lives on floor 5th. Thus arrangement is.

Isha Dev Geeta Bhaskar Ekta Hina Amit Chirag

From 1 and 2, 2 cases arise, Case (i) - Golden retriever at the corner, Case (ii) - Golden Retriever not at the corner.
Combining them with 3,

Case (i)

21
Answer_Assignment 2_Level 2_Seating Arrangement

Case (ii)

But, Since according to 3. Immediate neighbour of Spaniel, faces Doberman, in case (ii), Spaniel cannot be at the end,
because then neighbour of spaniel would face golden retriever and not Doberman, thus Romeo sits at the corner.
Combining the above information with 4,

Case (i)

22
Answer_Assignment 2_Level 2_Seating Arrangement

Also, From 4,

But, here, only place left for Bunny is at the ends, which is not possible according to 6. Thus, case (i) discarded.

Case (ii), according to 3, immediate neighbor of Spaniel faces the Doberman. Thus, Spaniel cannot be at the corner.
Thus, Romeo is at the end and Claire is of Doberman breed. Also, according to 4, Labrador faces Pomeranian and only
possible cases are when both are at the right ends. But, Romeo is not a Pomeranian. Thus, Romeo is a Labrador facing
Pomeranian.

Also, Penny is not a Spaniel and does not face Golden Retriever. Thus, Penny sits at the corner

23
Answer_Assignment 2_Level 2_Seating Arrangement
