SIU INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME – HEAD OFFICE (GAUTENG)

The Special Investigating Unit (SIU) is an independent statutory body that was established
in terms of the Special Investigating Units and Special Tribunals Act No. 74 of 1996. The
primary mandate of the SIU is to investigate allegations of corruption, malpractice and
maladministration in government departments, municipalities, and State-Owned Entities,
and to recover financial losses suffered by State institutions.
The SIU’s vision is to be “the State’s preferred and trusted anti-corruption, forensic
investigation and litigation agency’’.
The SIU has an exciting opportunity for an Internship Programme for Graduates and invites
suitably qualified Graduates to apply for the opportunities.
INTERN – FORENSIC ACCOUNTING X8

(REF NO: SIU23/Intern/001)
(2 YEARS)
HEAD OFFICE – GAUTENG
Stipend R 10 680.21 pm
R 128,162.55 per annum (Plus Medical Aid Subsidy)
Main purpose: To equip successful candidates to gain practical skills, knowledge and work
experience in the Forensic Accounting Division.
Minimum qualification and experience: B Degree or National Diploma with specialisation in

Accounting Sciences/ Financial Accounting/Auditing /Management accounting (NQF 6/7). No
experience required.
Competencies: Interpersonal skills, well-organised individual, pays attention to detail,

committed, dedicated, hardworking with good time management skills. Must have ethics and
integrity.
Required knowledge and Behavioural (include but not limited to):
Interpersonal skills, well-organized individual, attention to detail, committed, dedicated,

hardworking with good time management skills. Must have ethics and integrity.
Computer literacy: MS Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint). (Advanced Excel will be an
advantage).
INTERN – INTERNAL AUDIT X2

Main purpose: To equip successful candidates with practical skills, knowledge, and work
experience in the Internal Audit Division.
Minimum qualification and experience: B Degree or National Diploma specialisation in

Internal Audit (NQF 5/6/7). No experience required.

experience within the SIU’s Programme Portfolio Division.

Social Sciences or Research or equivalent (NQF 5/6/7). No experience required.

INTERN – MARKET DATA ANALYTICS X1

(2 YEARS)
Minimum qualification and experience: Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in Statistics

or Mathematics or Computer Science (NQF 6/7). No experience required.



INTERN - FORENSIC CYBER / DIGITAL ANALYTICS X2
2 YEARS
HEAD OFFICES – GAUTENG
experience within the SIU’s National Investigations Division.
Minimum qualification and experience: Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in Cyber

Forensics / Computer Science or Information Technology specialising in Cyber Forensics or
Digital Analytics (NQF 5/6/7). No experience required.



INTERN – FORENSIC DATA ANALYTICS X2
(2 YEARS)
experience within the SIU’s National Investigations Division.
Minimum qualification and experience: Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in Computer

Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Statistics, Data Science (NQF 5/6/7).
The following will be advantageous: CompTIA A+ and N+ Certification. No experience required.
Competencies: Good Interpersonal skills, well-organized individual, critical thinking, problem-

solving, analytical thinking, methodical, digital and computer literacy, attention to detail,
accurate, focused, committed, dedicated, hardworking, good time management skills, good
verbal and written communication skills, a team player, self-motivated, creative and innovative.
Must have ethics and integrity.
Deadline and research driven and accurate results orientated. A flair for creative visualization,
eager to learn more, and works well under pressure. Good Interpersonal skills, well-organized
individual, critical thinking, problem-solving, analytical thinking, methodical, digital and computer

PLEASE NOTE:
1. The SIU internship programme is targeted for the youth ages 18 – 35.
2. Candidates must not be currently participating in another internship programme or have previously
participated in an internship programme.
3. Candidates must be unemployed.
4. Candidates must be South African citizens.

6. The appointment of candidates will be at the Unit’s sole discretion and the Unit reserves the right not to
make an appointment.
7. All shortlisted applicants will be required to complete the SIU application form.
