Digital Technician Job Description

Summary
The Digital Technician is responsible for supporting the research and development of
digital models, electronic visualizations, and software to support the understanding and
fulfillment of customer needs and to support company business development.

Duties
● Performs a variety of specific duties designed to develop knowledge and skill in
applying digital and information technology principles, methods, techniques, and
responsibilities in support of grant applications, research, and client acquisition.
● Participates in the research, development,and marketing of digital tools,
applications, and information systems in support of customer needs. Ensures
data collected are of the highest quality. Assists with analysis and interpretation
of data for product lines.
● Carries out special projects designed to facilitate the fulfillment of the company’s
mission and vision.
● Keeps abreast of emerging technologies and professional developments to
maintain currency in the field and for application to work assignments.
● Assist with the maintenance of public facing and social media presence
● Visits sites, delivers presentations, and participates in training workshops.
● Assists in performing administrative duties for the company and projects.
● Works as part of a team
● Demonstrates ability to meet deadlines

Physical Demands: This position requires moderate periods of standing and sitting
while in an office setting. While in the field, considerable walking, lifting, and bending
might be necessary.

Work Environment: Office conditions do not require special safety precautions; field
conditions may include extreme heat or cold, rain, and hazardous environmental
conditions.

● Zimbabwe Citizenship or indefinite work rights is required
● Total salary varies depending on location of position
● Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, to include
evenings, weekends and/or holidays
● Shift work and emergency overtime may be required
● Employee must maintain current certifications
● Disclosure of Political Appointments
● Mobility - you may be required to travel vast distances to fulfill duties of this
position.
● You will be required to serve a 90 day probationary period
● Successful completion of all training and regulatory requirements as identified in
the applicable training plan
● Grade Point Average - 2.95 or higher out of a possible 4.0
● Completion of a pre-employment medical and health screening

Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENTS: A Bachelor's degree in information technology or operations


research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of information technology,
systems engineering, operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics,
mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial
competence in college-level information technology, mathematics or health research. In
addition to meeting the basic entry qualification requirements, applicants must have
specialized experience and/or directly related education. All educational requirements
must be met not later than 31 Aug 2022.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and
or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each
position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including


volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps,
AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious;
spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical
competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience
that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying
experience, including volunteer experience.

Are There Any Special Requirements For This Position?

● Professional knowledge of basic principles, concepts, and practices of operations


research analysis to apply scientific methods and techniques to analyze systems,
processes, and/or operational problems and procedures.
● Knowledge of mathematics and analysis to perform minor phases of a larger
assignment and prepare reports, documentation, and correspondence to
communicate factual and procedural information clearly.
● Ability to analyze, interpret, and apply operations research rules and procedures
in a variety of situations and recommend solutions to co-workers and senior
analysts.
● Ability to analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data,
and recognize solutions.
● Ability to plan and organize work, and confer with co-workers effectively.
