Evil Dead-The Musical Brings its Horrific Hilarity to Mount Baker

Theatre’s Main Stage

“Freakin’ awesome!” “Bloody hilarious!” “A demented delight!”

Bellingham, WA— Mount Baker Theatre presents Evil Dead-The Musical for a one-night
engagement, Saturday, October 7 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are now available for this macabre musical
comedy based on one of the most beloved cult franchises in the history of cinema: Evil Dead,
Evil Dead II, and Army of Darkness.

In this gleeful, gore-filled performance, five college students go to an abandoned cabin in the
woods and accidentally unleash an evil force that turns them all into demons. With limbs flying,
it’s up to Ash and his trusty chainsaw to save the day! Expect a galvanic score of rock ‘n’ roll,
pastiche tunes, and get-down-in-the-aisles-and-boogie music that’ll have you saying, “Hail to the
king, baby.”
The New York Times are naming it “the next Rocky Horror show!” Some attendees get to be a
part of the onstage mayhem by sitting in the first few rows, infamously known as the “Splatter
Zone.” In that range, patrons get soaked by stage blood throughout the show.

Evil Dead-The Musical was created by an ambitious group of young people in the back of a
small bar in Toronto. In hopes of highlighting the comedy, gore, slapstick, blood, and one-liners
of the original “Evil Dead” films they created Evil Dead-The Musical. Debuting in 2004, the
show has become the longest-running show in Toronto in decades and has been performed in
Seoul, Tokyo, Las Vegas and some 350 other locations.

Written by George Reinblatt and directed by Christopher Bond. Produced by Starvox

Entertainment.

BIG COMEDY COMES TO A SMALL SPACE AT

MOUNT BAKER THEATRE IN AUGUST

Bellingham, WA— Mount Baker Theatre presents Help! My Husband Has Gone Missing, My
Daughter is Getting Married, and I am Having Hot Flashes, a touring comedy performed in
MBT’s intimate Walton Theatre. Showing for a two-week engagement Thursday-Sunday,
August 10-20, at 7:30pm, audiences will be amused, delighted, and even comforted by Louise
Roche's new play.

Actress Kimberly Richards from Late Nite Catechism stars as Barbara who has just survived her
50th birthday and refuses to slide gently into middle age. This play is the perfect girls’ night out,
but audiences say that it is “a must see . . . even the men thoroughly enjoyed it.” Ditch the
romance and fluff for a funny and real show that has an understanding of “what makes women
tick.”

Louise Roche presents another emotional roller-coaster ride that is sometimes comical,
sometimes emotional and always inspirational.

Mount Baker Theatre presents one-man show that questions “what

do women want?"

Bellingham, WA— Mount Baker Theatre presents professional theatre comedy in an intimate
setting in Robert Dubac’s THE MALE INTELLECT: AN OXYMORON?, showing Wednesday-
Sunday, August 23-27, at 7:30 p.m. in the Walton Theatre. Join Robert Dubac as he attempts to
answer, “what do women want?”

The New York Times referred to this show as “Hilarious . . . a one man tour de force!” In this
creative comedy, Robert Dubac seamlessly transforms himself into five hysterical boneheads
who each offer sidesplitting advice on how to best straddle the gender gap - all while drinking a
beer. Robert Dubac belongs to a unique breed of humorists, bringing to mind the best of Lily
Tomlin and Mark Twain. He creates characters that boggle our minds with biting wit and rapid-
fire satire while simultaneously crafting a simple story that binds us all together.

Translated into dozens of languages from Hebrew to Hungarian and produced world-wide from
the Eiffel Tower to Dixieland, THE MALE INTELLECT is the kind of universal show that speaks
to anyone who has ever been in a relationship. And out of one. And back in one again. Brace
yourself, ladies. This is how men think.

MBT Presents Legendary Thirty-Year-Touring Band Sawyer

Brown in Concert

Bellingham, WA— Mount Baker Theatre presents iconic country music band Sawyer Brown in a
one-night engagement Saturday, September 16, at 7:30 p.m. Sawyer Brown’s energetic shows
have earned them the nickname “the Rolling Stones of country music.”

This travelin’ band has played over 4,500 shows, bounding onto the stage night after night to
deliver its own unique brand of enthusiastic entertainment. With twenty-three albums, more than
fifty chart singles, and multiple CMA, ACM, and CMT awards, Sawyer Brown has been a
trendsetter in country music since the ‘80s.
The band began playing 275-300 nights a year for the first decade or more of its career—and has
never come off the road. When asked about what keeps him motivated while touring, lead singer
Mark Miller says, “It’s playing the next show. Be grateful for where you’ve been and be excited
about where you’re going.” Their freshness is accomplished by seeking only to honestly
entertain at every show.

Sawyer Brown was the original winner of Ed McMahon’s Star Search.
