PERFORMANCE TASK IN COR 005 2ND QUARTER

THEME: Climate Change; An Awakening of Humanity

(The world has been experiencing severe changes in the environment as climate change
worsens. There is this this thing that humans sometimes unconsciously do whenever they experience a
problem, they wait for it to get worse before moving into action. This environmental problem is the
perfect example, we have been experiencing climate change for a long period of time already, yet,
despite all of the solutions proposed by numerous scientists and other environmental professionals,
there is little to no change from the environment, and that is due to lack of unity. No one dared to listen
to their warnings for decades.)

Imagine a world filled with emerald forests, their trees gently caressing the sky, and waters
overflowing with life, their depths a kaleidoscope of hues and species. This was the paradise we
inherited, a gift passed down through the ages and committed to our protection. Yet, somewhere
along the way, we were lost by our own actions that drowned out nature's harmonious rhythms.
Climate change has existed in the not-so-distant past; it is a mysterious theory buried in scientific
journals. It was an easily rejected idea, generally put into the realm of speculative future worries.
Today, however, the storm of climate change is raging, and it is an awakening to humanity
unlike any other.

The scientific evidence for climate change's reality is overwhelming. Rising global temperatures,
melting ice caps, more frequent and severe weather events, and altering ecosystems are all signs
that our world is changing dramatically. These changes are being driven mostly by a rise in
greenhouse gas emissions caused by human activities such as the use of fossil fuels,
deforestation, and industrial operations. Climate change is not a hypothetical possibility; it is a
current catastrophe that requires our immediate action.

One thing about climate change is that it awakens a responsibility that was long forgotten by its
caretakers, humans. It opens another frightening truth: that all of our actions contribute to climate
change. From the moment we wake up and start our day all the way to using any kinds of
transportation to work or study and doing the same at the end of the day, This knowledge
encourages many people to take personal responsibility for their carbon footprint, which leads to
adjustments in lifestyle choices such as lowering energy usage, driving less, or eating more
plant-based foods. Even young activists have also started organizing millions of young people
around the world, prompting climate strikes and protests to demand responsibility and action
from governments and companies. Speaking of companies, numerous businesses have switched
to renewable energy sources, employing environmentally friendly production practices, and
decreasing waste as they recognize the value of sustainability. Furthermore, the scientific field
still continues to play an important role in this progress. Researchers are working feverishly to
find new ways to minimize and adapt to climate change. Advances in renewable energy
technology, carbon capture and storage, and sustainable land and water management methods are
examples of this. People are becoming increasingly conscious of the environmental effects of
their decisions, indicating a rising feeling of personal responsibility and connectivity with the
earth.
In essence, climate change serves as a wake-up call to humanity. a call to arms for us to
acknowledge our influence on the world and the urgent need to change our ways. The crisis has
united numerous fields, from the science world to the economic world and even the daily
lifestyles of humans themselves. Despite the enormous hurdles, humanity's awareness of the
climate issue gives promise for a sustainable and resilient future. As we adapt and strive for a
more sustainable world, we may hope to leave a planet that is healthier, greener, and more in
tune with nature for future generations.
