Amid plenty of speculation about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s future, the
Duchess of Sussex’s next career move has reportedly been revealed.
It comes as Brand Sussex has taken a hit recently, with the collapse of their
reported $29 million Spotify contract and doubts about the future of their $150
million Netflix deal, leaving question marks surrounding what might come next for
the pair.
In 2021, the couple signed a lucrative book deal – reportedly worth up to $55
million – with Penguin Random House, in an agreement which involved four
books.

The Duchess of Sussex has reportedly been looking to shift gears in her career,
signing with top Hollywood talent agency WME in April in order to pursue new
opportunities.
Meanwhile, it emerged last week that Harry is planning to head to Africa to film a
solo project with Netflix, believed to be inspired by his late mother, Princess
Diana.
The latest development in the couple’s career plans comes amid reports the
couple are claiming they’ve been “repeatedly unlucky” in their attempts to
relaunch themselves since quitting royal duties.
In the months after leaving Britain in early 2020, the Duke and Duchess of
Sussex signed several high-profile deals in quick succession worth tens of
millions of dollars, seemingly laying the groundwork for an empire to follow.
Fast-forward three years, and that plan appears to have gone awry.
“The word is that they think they’ve been really unlucky,” an LA source told The
Daily Mail, adding that they believe Covid-19, economic downturns and the
deaths of Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth II have significantly hampered their
efforts.

Harry and Meghan announced they were stepping back from royal life in January
2020, just months before the world went into a series of lockdowns due to the
pandemic.
In March 2021, they made global headlines with their explosive Oprah Winfrey
interview, which featured a number of damaging claims against the royal family.

Just one month later, Prince Philip died at the age of 99.
