Checks During Proofreading

On Standard jobs, source file and translation file are opened on the screen for proofreading.
Grammarly must be used for translations into English, and spellcheck must be on while proofreading
translations in Turkish and other languages. You can create an account on Grammarly and download
it free from the following link: https://www.grammarly.com/e On official documents, especially
numbers, names, dates, addresses etc. should be checked carefully.

On CAT tool projects, Xbench is used as the first QA tool (OPTIONAL). Xbench is a QA tool that
makes the proofreading process easier and increases the translation quality. Xbench project is
downloaded from the pink button on the top right. Default checks are done by selecting the
spellcheck language. If we right-click on the segment that needs to be corrected and choose edit
segment, it will take us to the relevant segment. Detailed Information at:

https://www.matecat.com/support/advanced-features/matecat-qa-with-apsic-xbench/

After Xbench check, source file and translation file are downloaded for proofreading. Grammarly
must be used for translations into English, and spellcheck must be on while proofreading translations
in Turkish and other languages. The parts that need to be changed during proofreading are searched
in the CAT project and the related changes are made in the segment on Revise tab. The proofread
document is not saved as a word file.
The points to check and edit during proofreading for translation quality are indicated below with
error levels. Translator scoring is done accordingly. The translation file is both compared with the
source file for accuracy and it is checked for fluency in the target language. The whole document
should be reviewed for the 5 levels and 5 groups of translation errors below.

The reason for the score given to the translator is indicated with a short comment on the feedback
section.
