Design Your Own Salad Contest - Official Rules & Regulations

1. AGREEMENT: No purchase is necessary to enter the Contest. Entrance in the contest

constitutes acceptance of the Contest Rules and the final decisions of the Contest judge.

2. CONTEST:

Contest Period: Contest starts at 12:01 am Eastern time (ET) on Monday, July 5, 2010 and closes
on Saturday July 31st, 2010 at 11:59:59 pm (ET).

Purchase entry: Upon purchasing any size Design Your Own Salad (at participating locations) a
customer will be issued a ballot entry. All ballot entries must include the entrant’s full name,
mailing address, city, postal code, e-mail address and ten-digit telephone number (home and/or
business). The completed entry must be given to the cashier on-site during contest period.

No purchase entry: To receive and submit a no purchase entry ballot, please mail us your name
address and phone number to:

A no-purchase entry can be made by sending (1) your unique Design Your Own Salad creation
name (2) the list of ingredients you would put in your designer salad along with your name,
address, email address and telephone number to the mailing address above. All no-purchase
entries received by July 31st, 2010 will be entered into the contest weekly selections during
contest period. Incomplete, late, misdirected or illegible entries will not be entered.
One entry per person by this method of entry.

Semi-Finalist Selection: Each week, Contest judges will review all ballot entries (including valid
no-purchase entries received) and select the two most creative Design Your Own Salad ideas.
In total, eight (8) semi-finalists will be selected during the Contest Period. These semi-finalists
will have their Design Your Own Salad submission posted on-line at www.selectsandwich.com
(pictures provided by the Sponsor where possible). The semi-finalists will be selected according
to the following timetable:

 Selection: From August 9th – August 22nd visitors to the Select Sandwich website at
www.selectsandwich.com will be able to choose from the 8 semi-finalists and vote their
favourite Design Your Own Salad by submitting an on-line vote. Each vote submission must
include the voter’s full name, date of birth, city, and ten-digit telephone number as per the
required fields. One vote per valid email address by this method of entry The semi-finalist
receiving the most votes by the end of the Voting Period will be the Contest winner.

3. ELIGIBILITY: To enter and to be eligible to win, entrants must be a legal resident of Canada
(excluding Quebec residents) and be over the age of majority. The selected winne must correctly
answer a mathematical skill testing question. Employees and their parents, siblings and children,
and persons domiciled with an employee of any of the Contest Sponsor, their agents, parent,
affiliated or related companies, subsidiaries, and advertising agencies and administrators, are
ineligible to enter.

4. PRIZES:

Winner: There will be one (1) Contest winner. Prize is one free Design Your Own Salad (Large
size) per week for a year (exact start date to be determined by the Sponsor) valid at participating
Select Sandwich locations with a Design Your Own Salad program in the Greater Toronto Area
(GTA). One Large Design Your Own Salad comprises: one Step 1 fresh greens base, five Step 2
toss-ins, and one Step 4 dressing (Note: Additional toss-ins extra, see participating store for
details).Approximate prize value for Large Design Your Own Salad valued at $6.49 a week for
one(1) year is $337.48. The Prize may not be sold, transferred and has no cash value. Contest
Sponsor reserves the right to substitute the Prize in whole or in part in the event that all or any
component of the Prize is unavailable. Prize must be accepted as awarded. Sponsor will provide
winner with designated voucher for weekly prize redemption.

Voters: Each voter, upon submitting a valid on-line entry, will receive by email a voucher for
two complimentary Design Your Own Salad Step 2 toss-ins (total value of $1.00) with their next
purchase of any Design Your Own Salad. Non-transferable, no cash value. One voucher per
Design Your Own Salad order will be accepted.

5. GENERAL: On or after August 30th, 2010 the semi-finalist receiving the most votes during
the Voting Period will be selected as the potential winner. The odds of winning will depend upon
the total number of eligible votes received. Sponsor acting reasonably, will attempt to contact the
potential winner by telephone or email within one (1) week after the draw. In the event the
potential winner cannot be contacted within one (1) week after the draw, he or she will be
disqualified and an alternate potential winner will be drawn. Proof of identification must be
provided upon request.

6. RELEASE: Prior to receiving their prize, the winner will be required to provide a valid photo
ID and sign a declaration of eligibility and release form releasing the Sponsor of all liability,
confirming compliance with these rules and consenting to the use of his or her name and
photograph, without further compensation, in any publicity carried out by the Sponsor and/or its
advertising and promotional agencies. The signed form must be received by Sponsor within one
(1) week of notification or the prize may be forfeited and awarded to an alternate entrant.
7. ERRORS: The Sponsors and their suppliers are not liable for lost or stolen entries/votes or
inability to process entries/votes, web site downtime, and inability to access the web site, or any
virus or other damage incurred by contestant’s computer system.

8. BANNING: The sponsors may, in their sole discretion, prohibit any person from entering any
contest whom they believe to be abusing the rules. Such abuse includes entering false
information and the same individual entering from multiple (beyond a reasonable number) email
addresses.

9. CONTEST: Subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations.
By entering this Contest, each entrant consents to the collection, use and distribution of his/her
personal information by the Contest Sponsor for the purposes of implementing, administering
and fulfilling this Contest. Contest Sponsor will not sell or transmit this information to third
parties except for the purposes of administering this Contest.

11. GENERAL CONDITIONS: The Sponsor reserves the right to cancel or amend this Contest
in any way, in the event of an error, technical problem, computer virus, bugs, tampering,
unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failure or any other cause beyond the reasonable
control of the Sponsor. This right to withdraw or amend the Contest can be made without prior
notice or obligation.
