The IB is a demanding two year course that aims to provide a well-rounded student including

not only traditional subjects but also other components like CAS, TOK and etc; however, A
levels is more focused on individual subjects. IB and A-levels are quite different and it is hard
to compare the two, many people say that IB is more guided whilst A-levels is more free and
independent. The IB is assessed from a scale of 7 to 1– 7 being the highest whilst A levels
are assessed from the traditional A* to E. Nevertheless, there are still some similarities
between the two courses. Examiners found that the performance between the top students
and bottom students in IB and A-levels are similar.
