AVCS Update from FTP using Filezila procedure

You can use a small downloadable programme called “Filezila client”, this will let you sign into the
UKHO FTP site.

1. Download “FileZilla client” program from web site.

2. https://filezilla-project.org/
3. After downloading the FileZilla app, Open the programe the FileZilla Client.

4. Press File and open site manager

5. Press new site and all settings should show like the below picture. Password: Public12345
6. press connect and press OK
7. The digital products folder will show at the bottom right corner.
See below.

8. Click on the folder and all the digital products will appear.

9. For your ECDIS chart, click on the folder written “AVCS_S631-1” and you will see the below
screen
10. You will then click on the folder written “base CD”, and the below screen will show (you can
download BASE DVD/Weekly update or AIO from the list)

11. You will click on the folder written “ZIP Files, it will open zipped files that are the base
“CDs.”
For your operation area you will need BASE CD 1, BASE CD 2, BASE CD 4, BASE
CD 8, (see below screenshot.

Download one base CD at a time to allow them to download faster.

12. To download the base cd, right click on the base CD you want, it will open a folder, click
download.

13. Once successfully transferred, it will show the successful tranfer on the bottom tab and you
can find the stored location.
14. Weekly update.
Extract all the content to virus free USB pen. Connect the USB pen to ECDIS and find and
install the chart.

15. For AIO

Select Digital Product Updates > AVCS S631.1 > AIO

Download the Base and extract all the content to virus free USB pen.
 16. Base CD
Select Digital Product Updates > AVCS S631.1> Base cd>> select base.
Download the Base and extract all the content to virus free USB pen.

17. AVCS Base DVD

Select Digital Product Updates > AVCS S631.1> AVCS DVD >> select each base and
save separate folder.
Extract all the content of the DVD1 to separate folder and DVD2 for another folder.
Copy to virus free USB pen (Min 8 GB)
