With respect to the advertised vacancy on the company’s website for the role of a QHSE
Officer; I must say that I feel ecstatic to find out this opportunity. It pleases me that your
organization takes into cognizance the pivotal role Occupational Safety and Health (OSH)
plays towards ensuring that the management of organizations take responsibility of the safety
of their workers and by so doing ensuring business continuity.

As a graduate of the discipline of Petroleum Engineering, I begun my career working as an

intern in a Multinational Company (SPDC); there, I worked in the Instrumentation Unit as a
metering officer. Over the years, I grew the likeness for Health and Safety which then led me
into becoming a Health and Safety Professional. I now have a Five (5) years' worth of
experience working in this capacity within the Manufacturing, Engineering, and Petroleum
downstream sectors, respectively. I am presently employed as a HSSE Officer in a Petroleum
Downstream Company.

Over these years, I have acquired relevant skill set as required of a HSE professional through
trainings undergone and achieved certifications. These trainings are, but not limited to
Internal Auditor training in ISO 9001:2015, Lead Auditor Training in ISO 45001:2018,
NEBOSH IGC, HSE 1 2 & 3, and Fire Fighting trainings just to mention a few.

The trainings were able to aid me gain competence in core Health and Safety professional
functions which are inclusive of conducting internal audits, risk assessment and ensuring
implementation of required controls, ensuring strict compliance to policies and procedures at
relevant levels, planning and implementing all Health, Safety and Environment related
programs, collating and analyzing all relevant Health Safety and Environment reports
periodically, investigating workplace incidents, establishing the root causes, and
recommending preventive action against recurrences.

I have numerous achievements to boast of as a proof of my competence of which I believe

you would find satisfying when tendered.
