 Tell us about yourself


I am a dedicated, organized, and passionate person who takes my
work very seriously. As a health and safety officer, you have to be
determined, knowledgeable and resolute in everything you do, and
those are just some of the qualities I possess and proud of. The role of
health and safety officer requires specific skills and qualities which by
certainly feel I have in abundance. These are relied upon to create and
instil a culture of safety which must always come first within an
organization. If you hire me as your health and safety officer, I will
work with you to ensure everything you and your employees do is
compliant, and the risk is minimized to an acceptable level.
 Why do you want to work for us
Before submitting my CV, I researched your company, and I was
impressed by its achievements. I know I want to be part of a company
that not only values health and safety but also wants to move beyond
limits. We spend a lot of time at work, and as such it is important for me
to work in a company that does things to a high standards and that wants
to continually develop and improve.
 What's a risk assessment
A risk assessment process identifies the hazards and risk factors in a work
environment. It also recommends proper mitigation measures.

 What would you do to improve safety in our company
I think with my knowledge and experience, I can ensure your company
follows the required protocols also that everyone performs their job
safely and responsibly. That said, if I see an Area that needs improvement
or our staff are not adhering to what we lay out, I will intervene to
implement the new measures.
 What would you do if an employee failed to adhere to health and
safety protocol?
If a worker fails to adhere to set protocols, u would hand out a warning to
them. If they repeatedly ignore the rules and policies, I wouldn't hesitate
to write them and submit to my superiors.
 What would you do if you heard a colleague talking about nearly
having an accident at work?
If I overheard an employee revealing something like this, I would
approach them and enquire about what happened. It's important to
know if the accident occurred due to their own actions of faulty
equipment. I would take the necessary actions if the worker didn’t follow
the necessary safety steps.
 What would you do if a senior staff ignored your instructions
The manager is there to set an example and be a leader. If my senior us
not charging ahead and implementing recommendations in a health and
safety report, this is bad news for the company because you want to
endure the well being 9f all your staff. This could harm the company's
reputation. As a health and safety officer, then it would be my
responsibility to report this to a supervisor and ensure the safety of every
employee.
 What's your management style?
I would describe my management style as diplomatic. When I have had to
delegate duties, I take a collaborative approach. I present my findings and
listed recommendations and ask for suggestions from my colleagues.
Although I'm a leader, I always listen to others advise because they May
have a unique approach.
 If in six months on the job you gave not improved the safety culture
in out company, what would you do?

I think I’m capable of improving the safety culture of any company within
six months. However, if this doesn’t happen, I’ll sit down with my
superiors and discuss the areas that might need improvements.

 What do you think the positions day to day activities involve
Based on what was listed in the advertisement, my day to day activities
would involve documenting work observations, analysing safety data,
reviewing and modifying safety plans and preventing work place hazard.
 Tell us about your salary expectations
My salary expectations for this position are between 40,000 and 50,000. I feel this
is a fair salary range given my experience, knowledge of the industry, and skills.
However, I am willing to negotiate depending on other forms of compensation
that are available.
