1. Generalities
With the increasing world population the production of food is
becoming more and more important world wide. Production in a sustainable
way with a high production of food with also a good quality is important. A
wide range of approaches to protected cultivation are possible; growers can
adopt and adjust technologies according to climatic and specific crop
requirements. High-tech greenhouses produce high yields but also have high
initial costs; naturally ventilated plastic tunnels and greenhouses are a
low-cost alternative suitable for growers with limited capital or in regions with
fluctuating demand (Gruda and Tanny, 2104, 2015). In SEE countries, most of
the 54 585 ha of greenhouse area is plastic-covered without heating (Table 3,
Plate 1). Sometimes heating is installed for a very short period when
temperatures are particularly low (on cold days or at night). The greatest
concentration of this type of structure is in the south of the region, on the

The building is situated in Bacau, Moldova, Romania. This zone have a

variation of temperature, the winter temperature are low, what means than
making the cultivation during the winter season rough, but if you use
ventilation and climatic control system you can grow them.

The focus is on the cultivation for home and commercial, of tomato,
cucumber and pepper.

4. Building description
A clasical model with tunnel shape.
Because the area is 140 m2 this will have a span of 6 m, a height of 2.5 m
respectively 1m and a lentgth of 24m and the total number of bays of 8.
This have a easy way of montage, can be removed anywhere. For beams are
used rectangular steel of 30x30x3 mm dimensions, and for columns are used
the round shape (circle) of 30x2 mm
The walls, and also the roof are covered with polycarbonate panels with
g=2.7kg/m2
