How to find the correct reference for an academic article / book.

1) Go to Google Scholar (https://scholar.google.com/)

2) Search for the article by title / author and year.

3) Once you found the correct article / journal link, click on the quotation marks below the link.

4) From the popup window, pick the reference style you prefer (Harvard / Vancouver) and copy the text. If you
are using LaTeX, you can click on the BibTeX citation at the bottom of the popup.

5) Confirm that this citation is complete. Check against the actual article and other documents referencing this
article too.
6) Avoid internet websites as references as much as possible, especially those where you cannot find the author
and year it was written! These have not been peer reviewed and therefore not considered academically sound.
