Red Edible Oil

Red edible oil, also known as refined palm oil, is a product of crude palm oil that does not go
through a refining or bleaching process like regular palm cooking oil. This oil has a striking light
color and strong aroma, derived from palm oil which is indeed dark red. The advantages of red edible
oil include a lower price than cooking oil in general, and the production and management of the mill
is carried out by palm oil farmer cooperatives. The benefits of red edible oil include high vitamin A
and E content, the ability to overcome oil scarcity among farmers and communities around oil palm
plantations, and the role in overcoming stunting problems, especially in rural areas. In addition, red
eating oil can also be used as a supplement to help people from stunting because of its great
nutritional value compared to ordinary cooking oil. With its unique characteristics, red edible oil has
the potential as an innovation in the use of palm oil, not only as a frying ingredient, but also as a
nutritional supplement that benefits public health (Finaka, 2022).
The benefits of using red edible oil include: High content of vitamins A and E. Ability to
overcome oil scarcity among farmers and communities around oil palm plantations. Role in
overcoming stunting problems, especially in rural areas. Can be used as a supplement to help people
from editing because of its great nutritional value compared to ordinary cooking oil. Potential as an
innovation in the use of palm oil not only as a frying agent, but also as a nutritional supplement that is
beneficial to public health (Respati, 2022).
The process of making red edible oil involves crude palm oil (CPO) which after the refining
process does not continue further processes. This oil has a striking light color and a strong aroma. The
striking color of red edible oil comes from palm oil which is indeed dark red. Because during the
production process, red edible oil does not go through a refining or bleaching process like ordinary
palm cooking oil (Syahputra, 2022).
The advantages of selling red edible oil are: Profitable for palm oil farmers because the
production of red edible oil including the management of the mill is carried out by palm oil farmer
cooperatives. The price of red edible oil is more skewed than cooking oil in general (Finaka, 2022).
It can be concluded that red edible oil has unique characteristics and has potential as an
innovation in the use of palm oil. Besides being used as a frying ingredient, red edible oil can also be
used as a nutritional supplement that is beneficial to public health. The advantages of using red edible
oil include lower prices and benefiting palm oil farmers. With its benefits and advantages, the use of
red edible oil is expected to increase and have a positive impact on the community and palm oil
farmers.
