Objective:

important to be prepared.

Materials:
Interactive story or scenario cards
Large paper and markers
Flashcards with emergency terms and simple illustrations
Drawing materials (paper, crayons, markers)
Children's books or videos on disaster preparedness
Duration: 3 class periods (30-40 minutes each)
Lesson Plan:
Begin with a brief discussion about exciting adventures and ask students what they
think an adventure is.
Introduce the idea that we are going on an adventure to explore how to be safe and
prepared for emergencies.
Interactive Story or Scenario Cards (20 minutes)(video Lesson)
Present an interactive story or scenario cards that involve a fictional adventure where
characters face different emergencies.
Discuss with the students what the characters should do to stay safe.
Class Discussion (10 minutes):
Brainstorm and list potential hazards in and around their school environment.
Set the stage for the next class's adventure.
Day 2: Hazard Hunt and Safety Measures
Recap (10 minutes):
Guide the students in creating a collaborative adventure plan for their classroom.
Discuss evacuation routes, safe zones, and designated meeting places.
Drawing Adventure Maps (15 minutes):
Have students draw a map of their classroom with evacuation routes and safe zones
marked.
Encourage creativity in illustrating safe practices.
Sharing and Reflection (15 minutes):
Allow groups to share their adventure plans and drawings with the class.
Facilitate a class discussion on what they have learned and how they feel about being
prepared.
