Multi-Purpose Petrolatum Anti-corrosive Tape

DESCRIPTION
BC Petro Tape is composed of synthetic fabric, filled with a petrolatum compound, inertfillers
and special anti-corrosion agents for the protection of pipes, valves, flanges,couplings,
pilings, and other steel structures.

USES
Hydraulic pipes, Valves, Flanges, Joints, Elbows and Tees
Steel Pilings or Marine structures
Underground pipes or tanks.

FEATURES
• Provides excellent corrosion protection on steel structures and creates a solid water barrier
• Good resistance to acids, alkalis and salts
• Conforms to irregular surfaces
• Great efficiency with easy application and short working times.
• No changes in quality under extremely low temperature.
• No cracking, No hardening & solvent free
• Can be applied on the cold and wet surfaces.
• Can be applied above and below ground
• Meets AWWA C-217-09

APPLICATION
Before applying materials, need to clean the surfaces. Clean loose scales, rusts or other foreign
matter on the surface by Hand Tool Cleaning(SSPC SP2) or Power Tool Cleaning(SSPC SP3).
200~500 bar High pressure cleaning is also applicable. As primer of tape, cover the surface with
thin film of BC Petro Paste. For applying tapes on the uneven / irregular surface like flanges,
valves, shall apply BC Petro Mastic in advance. When wrap the tape, 55% overlap is recommend-
ed. After applying tapes, smoothly strip off (press) tape’s surface to make on air instead. For
protection from the environmental / external damage, applying outer wrapping tape – PVC FIRM
TAPE is also recommended. Refer to instruction manual for details.
