Read the DTC of [Telematics] using the Subaru Select Monitor. Ref. to TELEMATICS SYSTEM
(DIAGNOSTICS)>Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC).
Note:
If DTC is detected, only RED LED will illuminate. For details, refer to “LED operation
status list”. Ref. to TELEMATICS SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS)>Check List for
Interview>CHECK > LED ILLUMINATION STATUS LIST.
Yes Record the DTC, time stamp and freeze frame data, and Go to 5.
5. PERFORM DIAGNOSIS.
1. Perform the diagnosis for the displayed DTCs. Ref. to TELEMATICS SYSTEM
(DIAGNOSTICS)>Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)>LIST.
2. Repair or replace the cause of trouble.
3. Using the Subaru Select Monitor, perform the clear memory of [Telematics]. Ref. to

1. BASIC INSPECTION
Before performing the diagnosis, check the following items which may affect the problems relating to the
telematics system.
1. Check the battery. Ref. to STARTING/CHARGING SYSTEMS(H4DO)>Battery>INSPECTION.
2. Check the relay and fuse condition. Ref. to ENTERTAINMENT & MONITORING>Relay and Fuse.
3. Check harness and connector. Also check grounding.

3. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
4. Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for 5 seconds or more.
5. Using the Subaru Select Monitor, read the DTC of [Telematics] to check that there is no DTC displayed.

Inspection steps:
1. Using the Subaru Select Monitor, perform the clear memory of [Telematics]. Ref. to
COMMON(diag)>Clear memory.
2. Using the Subaru Select Monitor, read the DTC of [Telematics] to check that there is no DTC displayed.
Ref. to TELEMATICS SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS)>Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC).
Note:
If the DTC is displayed on the screen, the trouble is still present. Perform the diagnosis for
the displayed DTCs. After solving the DTC, repeat from step 1).
3. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
4. Close all doors. (The vehicle enters CAN sleep state.)
5. Wait for approx. 1 minute. After the indicator goes off, wait for another 1 minute. (DCM standby mode)
6. Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for 5 seconds or more.
7. Using the Subaru Select Monitor, read the DTC of [Telematics] to check that there is no DTC displayed.

Yes The circuit has returned to a normal condition at this time. Reproduce the failure, and
then perform the diagnosis again.
In this case, temporary poor contact of connector, temporary open or short circuit of
harness may be the cause.

12. CHECK THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT (CHECK THE DATA MONITOR).

2. THE SYSTEM DOES NOT NOTIFY THE CENTER EVEN IF THE SOS BUTTON IS
PRESSED
Probable cause:
Telematics antenna malfunction, DCM malfunction, out of service area, server side malfunction, SOS button
malfunction.
Caution:
After replacing DCM, it will be required to confirm the green LED blinking, and then to press
and hold the SOS button for two seconds to enter normal mode.
Before performing diagnosis, refer to “CAUTION” in “General Description”. Ref. to
TELEMATICS SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS)>General Description>CAUTION.
Note:
Perform the diagnostics for “Phone conversation is not possible. (The microphone does not
respond to a voice. No sound is heard from the speaker.)”. Ref. to TELEMATICS SYSTEM
(DIAGNOSTICS)>Diagnostics with Phenomenon>INSPECTION > PHONE CONVERSATION IS

then perform the diagnosis again.
