1 – Design details
Our cranes are designed in compliance with standards FEM 1.1004: A4 and the relevant rules, instructions for
use, etc,
Classification: group B2, load conditions H2, maximum hoisting speed 16 m/min.
The anchoring devices and the dimensions of the foundation block comply with standard DIN 1045.
The cranes are to be installed strictly in the vertical position on a soil or support that is completely devoid of any
vibration.
The power supply circuit from the isolating switch corresponds to the equivalent of (or is better than) IP44
protection class.
Make sure that the choice of the hoisting category and class or the load spectrum indeed corresponds to the use
intended.
At your request, we can give you the detail of the forces, spans, clearance beneath the hook and various
classifications of the standard(s) relevant to your crane..

Never leave a load slung unless absolutely unavoidable.
Never use the equipment in a way or in a place for which it has not been designed.
Never leave the equipment exposed to an aggressive environment (temperature, acidity, ... – see details
concerning the environment).
Never carry a load without first preventing personnel from coming near. Never pass the hook above personnel,
whether with or without a load.

5 – General advice
5-1 On reception of the equipment
After completely terminating installation, carry out the acceptance tests on the equipment.
In the event of anomaly, make out a report expressing the usual reservations.
5-2 Commissioning
Limited slewing motion cranes will provide trouble-free service only provided they are mounted exactly as indicated
in this manual and the maintenance and tests stipulated are conducted at regular intervals. Neglecting to follow
these instructions will only be at the cost of safety, and no claims can be considered. Likewise, for safety reasons,
only genuine spares must be used.

6 – Mounting VATS cranes
6-1 Preparation:
The fastener supports must first be checked and prepared to ensure that they can withstand the reactive forces indicated in
the VERLINDE EUROSTYLE crane technical guide manual.
The fasteners are the responsibility of the customer. The holes must be drilled to a diameter of 26 mm and the drilling and
positioning operation must be that appropriate for the type of base plate delivered with the crane (see technical guide
manual).
1. Place the upper bracket item 3 on the support at the desired height and adjust the horizontality with a level
gauge.
2. Mark out the positions of the holes on the support and drill them to a diameter of 26 mm.
3. Secure the upper bracket with HMR class 10.9 24 mm bolts (not included in the supplies), tightening the nuts
only moderately.
4. Place the lower wall bracket item 3 bis on the support at the distance from the upper bracket as appropriate for
the type of bracket provided (see technical guide) and check that is horizontal with the level gauge.
5. Secure the lower bracket with HMM de 24 class 10.9 bolts (not included in the supplies), tightening the nuts only
moderately.
6. Check that the two brackets are vertically aligned with one another, using a bob weight.
Caution! If alignment is not absolutely exact, the crane may move unaided. DANGER OF ACCIDENT.
7. Tighten the HMR24 bolts to a torque of 66 daN.m and screw the lock nuts tight.
1. Drill a 13 mm diameter hole right through the steel section forming the boom in order to form the parking track
for the cable holder shoes. See the dimensions to be complied with, indicated in the table for the relevant
section and span.
2. First fit the fixed shoe item 11against the slewing movement cylinder. Screw up the two bolts so as to secure the
line.
3. Fit the cable carrier shoes item 12..
4. Slide the 4G 1.5 cable into the fixed shoe and then into the cable carrier shoe. Leave a distance of 1100 mm
between each mobile shoe and a distance of 1000 mm after the last cable carrier shoe so as to provide the link
with the hoist. Block the cable into position on each shoe.
5. Engage the hoist carrier trolley item 13 and then close off the steel section by means of the closing plate item
14.

7 – Mounting of VFTS cranes
7- 1: Preparation:
Caution: In is vital that the foundations have already been laid and that the foundation block has sufficiently dried out
Lay down the mast post in the immediate proximity of the foundations.
Thread the supply cable through the tube and the opening in the isolation switch casing.
The fastenings and anchor points are the responsibility of the customer.
Lower the mast post so that all the 27 mm diameter threaded rods engage at one and the same time into the 32 mm holes
of the base plate.
The underside of the base plate must rest in perfect contact with the nuts of the anchoring template.
Insert M27 washers and nuts into the top part of the base plate..
Adjust the verticality, preferably on the slewing axis, by adjusting the lower nuts and nuts and then block them hard to a
torque of 80 daN.m. Tighten the lock nuts.
Caution! If the verticality is not absolutely accurate, the crane may move by itself. DANGER OF ACCIDENT

8 – Maintenance
Use only specialist contractors or experts to conduct maintenance and inspection tasks. If necessary, ask your supplier
for a list.
For safety reasons, use only genuine spares made by the constructor.
1. The cranes will operate perfectly only provided maintenance is carried out in accordance with this manual and the
equipment is checked and inspected at regular intervals. Only at the cost of safety can these instructions be
ignored, with consequent refusal of all claims. Access to the equipment and in particular the anchor points must be
kept permanently available for inspection operations.
2. Equally, when conducting maintenance operations, comply with the applicable legislation.
3. Depending on their use, the cranes must be inspected at least once a year by an expert.
4. Open the mains isolating switch before conducting any maintenance or inspection work on the crane.
5. Inform the supplier at once of any defects and immediately cease using the equipment. We disclaim all liability if any
modifications, unauthorised work and repairs are undertaken without first receiving our written agreement.
6. All bearings are packed with long duration grease and in principle no further greasing will ever be needed.
7. In addition, the position of the anchor rods, nuts, lock nuts and the adjustment and condition of the trolley rolling
mechanism and suspension of the hoisting devices must also be verified. Check that all the elements operate
correctly without setting any safety problems. All the parts that have reached a certain level of wear must be
replaced.
8. Painstaking maintenance and careful use will increase the service life of your crane.
9. Consult the manual for maintenance of the hoist.
10. Check the tightening torque of the screws. In doing so, there must be no external tension forces on any screw
connections.
Tightening torque relevant to class 10.9 for lightly lubricated black HV screws:
Greased M27 anchor rod nuts must be tightened to a torque of 80 daN.m. Block all the anchor rod nuts by tightening
their lock nuts.
Any cracked or damaged screws must be replaced immediately.
An initial inspection must be made after no more than 100 hours of use. After that, we recommend that the equipment be
inspected every 600 hours of use, or every three months.
Comply with applicable legislation.
11. Test the welds and structural elements. Check that there are no cracks on the principle welds, junctions and the
different elements, particularly on the lower and upper parts of the crane and the securing devices of the boom.
Caution! It is forbidden to modify or add elements to the crane without the written agreement of the constructor or
supplier.
