This study aimed to explore the extent of Korean influence among

Senior High School students in Mabitac Integrated National High School. The

study also investigated whether there were any significant differences

between the respondents' demographic profiles (gender, age, and track &

strand) and their level of Korean fandom in relation to the Korean wave.

The research used a quantitative approach. Respondents of this study

were 57 Senior High School students and selected using purposive sampling

technique. The questionnaire collected data on the respondents' demographic

profile and level of Korean fandom. It also assessed various aspects of

Korean influence, including movies, drama series, K-pop music, and Korean

cuisine.

The findings of the study indicated that the respondents strongly

recognized the blending of Korean influence with Philippine culture, as

evidenced by their preference for Korean movies, drama series, K-pop music,

and Korean cuisine. This suggests that the Korean wave had a significant

impact on the cultural diffusion among Filipino senior high school students in

Mabitac, Laguna.

Furthermore, the study concluded that there were no significant

differences between the respondents' demographic profiles; gender(p-value

0.1234), age (p-value 0.6482), and track & strand (p-value 0.8961) and the

extent of Korean influence. However, a significant difference was observed

PAGE \* MERGEFORMAT 2
between the level of Korean fandom and the respondents' influence of the

Korean wave with a p-value 0.0004. This suggests that the degree of the

respondents' fan type plays a more significant role in determining the extent of

Korean influence than their demographic characteristics.

Based on these findings and conclusions, the researchers

recommended further exploration to investigate the motivations behind the

fascination with Korean culture and how it could impact social interactions and

relationships.
