1- For the given state of stress, determine (a) the principal planes, (b) the principle
stresses.

2- For the given state of stress, determine (a) the principal planes, (b) the principle
stresses.

3- For the given state of stress, determine (a) the orientation of the planes of
maximum in plane shearing stress, (b) the maximum in plane shearing stress, (c)
the corresponding normal stress.

4- For the given state of stress, determine the normal and shearing stresses after the
element has been rotated through (a) 25° clockwise, (b) 10° counterclockwise.

5- For the state of plane stress shown, determine (a) the principle planes and the
principle stresses, (b) the stress components exerted on the element obtained by
rotating the given element counter clockwise through 30°. Use Mohr's circle.
