B. ANALISIS JURNAL
1. Judul Jurnal : the effect of meditation on the quality of life of elderly people suffering
from hypertension in the wening wardoyo social rehabilitation unit ungaran semarang
regency
2. Problem : Hypertension is a cardiovascular disease that has become a major public
health problem in Indonesia and countries around the world (Indonesian Health Profile,
2005). Hypertension is a chronic disease condition that causes stress (stressful).
Emotional or mental stress can reduce a person's quality of life, in addition to mental
stress (psychosocial) can increase blood pressure (Jaret, 2008). One option is meditation
therapy (Kavya, 2003; O'Hara, 2006). Meditation has been successfully used in the
treatment and prevention of high blood pressure (hypertension), heart disease, stroke.
3. Intervention : This study used a quasy experimental design with the pre and post test
with control group method, meaning that data collection was carried out before and
after intervention in the control group and intervention group. The sampling technique
was carried out using the simple random sampling method, namely random sampling
until the number of samples was met.
4. Comparison : The comparison in this journal is that the control group was given health
education on hypertension management.
5. Outcome : Based on the results of the study, most of them had sufficient quality of life,
namely 33 respondents (82.5%). Sufficient quality of life in patients can be seen in the
distribution of questionnaire results that most respondents feel that they really need
medical therapy to support their daily activities, respondents feel pain so that it has an
impact on their daily activities and respondents also claim to be less satisfied with
sexual intercourse. The results of this study are in line with research by Ibrahim (2009)
that his research showed that out of 91 elderly patients, 52 patients (57.2%) perceived
their quality of life at a low level and 39 other patients (42.9%) at a high level. Quality of
life is the distance between expectations and patient experience (Shafipour, 2010).
6. Time : This journal does not indicate when the research was conducted.
