TOURISM FAIR
12 to 19 February 2024

TERMS OF REFERENCE
The Tourism Fair is an event organized by the Provincial Government of Aurora through the Provincial
Tourism Office for the 8 municipalities of Aurora to promote their products and services during the
annual celebration of Aurora Day. It is an opportunity for the 8 municipalities to update the general public
of their current tourism offers. The purpose of the celebration is to develop the awareness on the
importance of tourism and demonstrate the cultural, social, economic and political values across the
community.

This year, the fair will coincide with the launching of “PASIDAYAW FESTIVAL”. It is a celebration
of culture , heritage, hope from the faith of Aurorans , sharing of bountiful harvests from the land and the
waters, and a new beginning with the break of dawn (Bukang Liwayway).

PASIDA is a common term to the locals meaning “paulam” or sharing one’s viand or harvest from the
nature’s bounty. The culture of sharing is inherent to the locals of Aurora which is also relative to “atag”
and “pukot” where one shares his/her time and effort to achieve a common goal.

“DAYAW” means celebration, to glorify or to present with pride. This is evident in the celebration of
fiestas and thanksgiving ceremonies, strong faith and close family ties.

These cultures of the locals signify pride of place, tradition and antecedents which also connote to
celebration of ones heritage.
