WRITING
You have just received this letter from your penfriend. Read it carefully.
Dear Jim,
How are you? I hope you’re enjoying the last few days of term. I’m really looking forward to the
school holidays, but I know my parents want to talk to me about my future. I have to choose
which subjects I want to study next year and of course my choice will be important for my
future job.
When I was younger I wanted to be a doctor, but I’ve changed my mind and now I want to be a
lawyer because I can earn a lot of money! No, seriously, I think it is a very interesting job and I
may be able to work in another country if I join an international company. Of course, I might
not be good enough to pass all the exams but I hope I’ll succeed.
What do you think? What are you going to study?
Write back soon.
John
