Task 1:

We should keep in mind that a person can read a lot of books and travel all over the
world but still be entirely ignorant. Why is that? Books can be read in a variety of ways.
If you read books just to kill time, find pleasure, or forget about boredom on the train or
read books to fall asleep, then reading books is not beneficial to the spirit. Reading books
that are beneficial to the spirit is when you know how to use all your abilities and talents,
clearly understand your deep thoughts and weighs those thoughts against the author's
contrasting viewpoints, knowing how to reorganize your memories, how to meditate, how
to work methodically, in short, knowing how to discuss and feel empathy with the author
of the book you are reading, that is knowing how to read books.

Task 2:
China has been secretly preparing to form a partnership with Iran that will have
significant security and economic ramifications, paving the way for billions of Chinese
dollars to be invested in the energy and other industries. This would undermine the
Trump administration's efforts to isolate the Iranian government for its military and
nuclear ambitions. The collaboration pact would greatly increase China's involvement in
banking, telecommunications, ports, railways, and dozens of other projects, as outlined in
a proposed 18-page deal. In return, China would receive a steady supply of oil from Iran
with a substantial discount for the next 25 years - according to an Iranian official who is
also an oil dealer.
